[music] and just like that we are here episode number five break 75. um now you might have seen the last two episodes i've actually successfully broken 75 70 at may 73 at presby. So you know i thought i'd level up a little bit and come to what is possibly one of the longest golf courses here in the uk it's called jcb golf. And country club brand new it's only been open three years this june coming up and off the back tees which we're playing today.
It's 7 hundred yards past seventy two um i'm not sure break 75 is going to be on today.
But i'll try my best also i'm gonna be joined with producer guy today.
Who wanted a quick rematch after i paced him at presbytery now you are gonna see the letters jcb a lot in this video quick call out this is not a paid advert this is not an advert. For this luckily we've managed to get access to this golf course because it is stunning. But that's as far as it goes just to make a cool video and we're the first group ever to play off the back back tease without further ado we're at the practice range pro v1s are on a pyramid ready to go let's see what happens right very well enjoy heart is like pounding today.
But it's more like it's like a nervous energy it might be a bit twitchy and a bit excited about this one look at the lighter that's one of the best tee shots i've ever hit first holes i think i was nervous i was. And i tried to fit it any better i'd have actually gone potentially as water but i don't know whether it's adrenaline but i've hit that about 330 odd jobs [Music] oh look how far that's gone past as well went for it [Music] take apart [Music] okay second hole really nice chance to open the birdie account oh rick come on where are these birdie ports i can't buy one at the moment this is going to be. So fast [Music] three paths [Music] do ah to be honest i did a good shot of that all once oh my god. So this is adventurous i found it here. So it literally hit the path and bounced down to here lucky i wasn't the other side of the tree uh i bet he's got to play a flop shot over these trees here and try and get it back on the green [Music] oh be good that wasn't bad i'm putting the par i actually thought it was a little bit closer to be fair down the hill this would be a hell of a recovery [Music] oh no no no no no no no that's absolutely horrendous that was a good foot as well double bogey rick you absolute idiot five holes in my impression. So far it's very nice here enjoyed the golf course it's quite new as i mentioned earlier it's only like three years old but the layout is really nice what i thought was going to worry me was the length. So far it's not because it's quite dry and the balls kind of bouncing that's not the thing that's worried me the green the complex green kind of characteristics lots of big fall offs lots of big undulations they're the things that are probably catching me out at the moment [Music] sometimes. So hard to get it like in one thing i forgot to mention the 17th hole is a par 3 island green. But it's not like sawgrass oh no no no it's not a wedge it's like 200 yards off the teeth not even longer that's definitely something to stay around. For so far three over i need to make some birdies it is absolutely paramount oh what is that come on have a bit have a bit of a spin oh that was. So unlucky i'm not down slope oh settle settle settle settle settle settle fast super fast i thought i'd pull that okay halfway house even though we've only played seven holes can't resist i'm having a pasty very very nice i must admit meat potato let me give you a little bit of a food review lovely golf though not lovely i'm four over through seven holes a lot of work to do no birdie source just. Yet now i just need to just get fine-tuned with this golf course making pars isn't easy making birdies might be nearly impossible let's see how i get on [Music] oh marry me oh yeah he's back he's back in town four over. But i'm back oh [Laughter] oh my god so the general manager and the green keeper and green keepers just started walking around with us and uh you know pull out a shank that's why it's what you do when people watch shanked it to hear absolutely dead i actually don't even have to play this ah double terrible oh nice hole keep going nine holes in it's not exactly going to plan i'm six over par two doubles two bogeys no birdies. And uh to make it more interesting this is now the 10th hole i think is the longest hole in the golf course 650 yards from here wish me luck on the back nine i've basically got a i've got a shoe three on the back nine to break 75 which is incredible actually to break 75 we've got to shoot four under that nine. So let's just let's just enjoy this back nine whatever happens happens i think break 80 should be my main objective now [Music] oh from a birdie chance to a bloody bogey pathetic get down it's a weird one today.
I feel like it's not far away. But it's also miles away it's one of those courses you definitely need to play to get used to the lines and the length i mean that chip was terrible i must admit i duffed that chip um it's just a test it's a slog my concern here is that rick's seven over par i think he could pull it back. But his head's going a bit. So if he carries on with this mindset he couldn't go well over par if he slows it down a little bit it takes his time could bring it back and just about hopefully shoot five over four over maybe even break 75 fingers crossed oh whoa where's that guy [Music] it's not even a bad port but it's just not [Music] wow i thought it couldn't get any more challenging this is a par 5. it's comfy over 600 yards off the backs. And i've hit an okay t-shirt not my best a little bit ropey at the right look at that everything to the right is water anything to the left is bunkers. And a slither of fairway wow keep going yeah that's wet that is wet oh big mistake [Music] ah let's beat me up this golf course beat me up good. And proper i've played crap and it's just a test it's a slog when you're not getting in the right slots racking up the score [Music] actually missed the green from there that's shocking so bad just literally not hold it i can't buy a [Music] putt [Music] i think it's online as well [Music] racking up those bogeys ow little bit of assistance [Music] i thought it was gonna be wrapping [Music] cannot hold [Laughter] first thought seeing the 17th what an unbelievable golf hall absolutely stunning par 3 downhill on the plate here it says 255 yards par 3. the back of the green looks like it's about 290 all round water stunning stunning hull this is the one we've come. For i mean a shame the score is not going to plan yes. But it could all change with a cheeky holding one on here all will be forgiven if we can get one in [Music] it's on dry land. But it isn't close wow what an unbelievable golf hole i mean we've teed up from right up at the top there. And we're now on this island green with like a beachfront going up onto the green absolutely stunning i'm actually just pin high left oh rick just just weak weak. And pathetic the one hole i wanted to play well all day [Music] so as i walked back over this bridge after hitting my t-shirt on 18. today.
Has not been my finest day not gonna lie to you i've got to make par to shoot 85 i was getting all cocky had a bit of swag about myself i've had a couple of good rounds episode number three. And four so number five has kicked me well and truly back into touch it's been weak today.
It's been a terrible performance the golf course though i cannot fault it incredible very difficult pristine a golf course that i think i'd need to probably play 10 times before i really got the grasp of it. But it has been an amazing experience oh you're joking me [Music] i am absolutely done.
