Right guys so we are going to be testing today.
The the theory behind these new callaway big bertha irons they're claiming they're going to be two up to two clubs longer. So i've got rob here my trusty sidekick robert you've seen on videos before uh handicapper off now rob 13. so a 13 handicapper that strives for distance yeah it's fair. For me to say i had an accident a few years ago and now struggles with gaining the maximum amount of distance so we're gonna want as much help as we possibly can yeah i need it. And that's what this club apparently is offering. So we're gonna be hitting it on gc2 with simulator software against rob's current set which is callaway anyway which is what rob it's a razor x toy uh is the hands i use at the moment. And how how old are we thinking they are now they're roughly about what probably three to four seasons old. So three to four seasons old we're gonna be hitting real golf balls we're gonna see how far rob carries his current seven iron then.
We're going to see if the big bertha can can gain any difference. And also get rob's feedback this is this club is designed. For the golfers like rob who wants more distance so we're going to get his bit of feedback on it as well yeah. So rob no pressure possibly tens of thousand people watching yeah you're right yeah bring it on white shoulders i love it. And then.
In this new edition well they can just hold on the beard i like it i like it it'll be a fashion statement right go on then.
Rob um hit me some foolish golf shots with yours okay um. And tell me how it kind of feels and how it looks as well with that so this is it's a relatively small head this club isn't it it is yeah yeah yeah i went back to a smaller headed club the acts 20s before this okay i went back to a normal a smaller headed club thinking well hold on i have less room. For actually miss hitting it with a smaller edit club oh that means the strike's gonna be more better so i was trying to improve myself on it perfect i love it the loft of this 79 is 33 degrees when you're ready rob let's hit a couple. So we can get some some data on it how did that one feel that actually felt really flush. For me that was actually that felt really nice though. So we've carried that a total of one let's give it give me on the screen there perfect video over i'm on it video over see you later rob um you can see the strike was off the bottom. And the carry distance was one three four. So one three four i was like out from knowing you're out that's a little bit shorter than what you normally do yeah um. So let's see let's get a bit of a couple of shots in there okay you can't really argue with that shot though can you no not. For a the first one hold downhill from here isn't it if he is it i'm not buying you a beer all right you've got to buy everyone there how's that strike that felt better. So i don't think it was as yeah you can tell by the distance yeah you felt a better launch i reckon the carry will be closer to 140 139 uh strike location just from the toe. But slightly higher off the face let's go one more so we've got three with your current existing club golf club um let's see what the big berth has to offer shut up i don't think you should swap i finally found something that's going on great golf shot love it that's all we need rob we just need a load of people just give me a potential people people watching precious 141. So we've got an average there and that was a decent strike location as well ball speed coming out 102 you know average carry distance 138 yeah that's 33 degrees against 30 degrees. So this is the new callaway big bertha iron we've kept it in the steel regular flex exactly almost the same what you've got in yours there rob let's have a look at different in length you've got your game golf products in here yeah with the game golf it's the same yeah. So the game golf is what quarter of an inch if that yeah. So the new callaway is a little bit longer. And three degrees stronger be interesting if you've not seen my review of this guys go and check out my channel cause i've done an in-depth review of this what they're doing is they're they're cut with this iron educate yourself because i've not talked to you about this. Yet you've hit it a few times haven't you yeah i've got a couple of smacks with it yeah. So they've used their hybrid and their fairway wood technology in this yeah. So basically it's a big chunky iron the biggest chunky iron that they can do without making it look too chunky from the top. So they've talked about this 360 degree face kind of flex and all this so when you hit it apparently the ball is supposed to come out faster yeah why i've got my glove on i don't even know i've just realised i just wanted to feel part of it michael jackson wannabe. So 30 degrees bigger head slightly longer shaft yeah you would expect i think. So yeah expect longer yeah you look at the back end of it you think this is going to go country mall you know from from you know pete you know this is a phenomenal um review i think this is a more powerful review than from my own self review what do you think the looks of that club. And be dead honest you know what do you would you use that golf club be dead honest be honest knowing i've gone back to that probably not i don't think you would knowing you no i mean i've gone from the x-20s thinking that that would get me more distance. And it wasn't really doing much for me i then.
Gone back to that and i'm hitting that just a little bit further what the x20s were. So this one would have to really do something surprising. For me i hit that quite a low trajectory so let's see with all the weight that's in the bottom of this is it going to go yeah it has to is it going to go airborne. So it's like a hybrid we want my bridge look at that callaway are you listening pat on that yeah copyright what would be a decent result distance well what would you expect if i could get i was hitting what 141 then.
On the fly that was your best one that was the best one right. So if i hit the best one and this is going to say two clubs longer well that. For me is going to be at least 150.. So if i can get this 150 on the fly then.
Callaway is done exactly as it says on the tin let's do it it's a wrong seal let's do it. So let's do it. So is it the same looks wise looks wise i said it it gives you confidence it's a chunky um chunky top edge to the to the club. So you think there's weight behind this it's going to go you know that's what i call it a bit of my. But it's crossed in a hat an iron and a hybrid so it's a hybrid perfect um let's give it a smash see what it can do i don't think it will get gimme range it should fly the green in theory well in theory yeah couldn't even tell it that you couldn't tell you hit it no i didn't there was no feel off the club okay. So you've carried the green so it's carried at one four eight ball speed was faster um 148 yards of carry that's confidence boosting. But but it it should be it's three yards it's three degrees stronger it's got a bigger head and it's slightly longer but the thing is even though it's got less degrees of loft it's going higher yeah. But it feels like it's going higher gravity yeah it's the center of gravity that was a great hit that yeah it felt really good though strike location was really good again rob you're just performing these golf shots i love it love a twizzle it's big again that's carried probably one four four one four four. So three yards longer than your best let's go one more yeah good strike location let's try. And get this one square it impact and try and see how far it will go now nice hit it's a definitely different flight yeah without a doubt well they've all carried the pin yeah they have aren't they. And then.
Some one four threes that still better jaw and that was at the top that was it right off the top that's that's off the tone it's still going 143.. So how good are you writing it rob well i mean i like that i didn't middle it. So evidence is there a bit evidence evidence is certainly there because on a mishit i'm good. For testing you miss it theories yeah um taylormade exactly i'm gonna miss it it's it's going it's flying some um. So that's the confidence booster yourself could you see him in your bag be honest because look at them you'd say no i don't think you would no i think that they've got such a big chunky head on it i think it almost i don't know it plays in your mind that i couldn't imagine you knowing you that that iron would sit in your bag no i mean. But the results are right up there the only thing that would make me possibly put an eye like this in my bag would be as you know i i go really hybrids. Or um a forward now yeah you know i'd like to go back to trying to hit a three iron. Or a four iron this would give me confidence with a three and a four iron launching and going. And actually getting the distance if you've got anything that would equate to the same as what the hybrids are then.
I might a bit more than hybrids i might go with the iron. So there might be a market where you almost have a a combo set yeah. So you could stick with these yeah up to what six six yeah. And then.
Go five four three iron yeah yeah i i don't mind like sitting by either i've got a a five to nine iron in the razor x uh. And i've got driver forward uh in the in in the clubs as well so i can i don't mind playing around with that as it stands at the moment it means i can get more wedges in. But when you're looking for distance and sometimes you're needing that distance especially with me um i have to rely everything on my short game well that that's for seven iron they're good hits i'm pleased with that you know my old before i have my accent and i lost all my strength i could hit 150 with a seven iron in my sleep yeah. So to get anywhere near that even though i'm having to rely on technology you know it's good if i can bolt myself up a little bit more. And get the strength back up then.
I could probably go a little bit further perfect right rob we appreciate that honestly dude oh callaway i'm sure we'll appreciate that as well well you know all my stuff's callaway so what we're going to do now we're going to do one more video. And we're going to go on the eight the ninth hole at the brabazon. And i'm going to pitch this now up against it i'm going to put you out at exactly 145 yards to carry the water right yeah we're going to see if one of these two can actually carry it guys stay tuned.
