Hi guys my name's rick shields down here at traffic gold central manchester and today.
We've got a match up against the two adjustable drivers in the mark at the moment very similar design methods on these two golf clubs we've got the taylormade sldr against the new callaway big bertha driver. So the idea of this that you can change the weighting a lot along the the back of the callaway. And along the bottom of the made so you can change it to whether it's going to be a draw. Or fade biased golf club and also you can adjust the neck. And the loft adjustabilities on it to change the orientation of the face and also the amount of loft or de-loft that you can get on these two golf clubs been a lot oppressed of the sldr the last few months about lofting up. But i've got these two golf clubs today.
In 10 degrees of loft. So i'm trying to make it as fair a challenge as we can we're going to do the longest drive competition on gc2. So it's really closed data hitting real golf balls i'm going to hit alternate golf shots between the two we're going to see the battle of the adjustability drivers um i'm going to callaway big bertha first i'm going to go with the the newer driver first now design on head this is a little bit more kind of bigger setup. But not as deep as the sldr so the sldr's got quite a deep face that's why one of the main reasons why the center of gravity is. So far forward in this in this in the taylormade what we've got the the callaway up first if you've not seen my review of this yet do check out my channel it should be a little window here just to check out the review of this driver as well. But this is all about distance of these two today.
Didn't feel like a bad start it's gone a bit high to be fair. So 281 not a bad start at all to be fair for the callaway uh big bertha we're gonna go sldr i said i've done quite a few videos on this golf club already if you've not checked them out do check them out again in the windows i've messed about the loft i've done a review on it as well of also i think i've pitched up against the r1 which is the old one. So this is now pitching up against the new callaway probably it's its closest competitor really that produced a little bit lower ball flight 270 not quite as far as the callaway. So far but it was a it's still a very decent hit it felt great i've got another i've got the callaway alpha there which i better make sure i don't pick up because color-wise in the top looks very similar. But very different design characteristics of the two golf clubs got these both in also stock stiff shafts and they're almost identical in length we'll look at them both it's identical in length so they're very very similar matched up to here today.
So callaway's got the early lead i didn't feel too bad again 275 so not a bad hit respectable you know i normally hit the ball about 268 270 on the fly so quite decent hits there for those two so far let's go sldr again this needs a biggie now this is a 280 to catch up with the callaway i would say before the last ball that could be it as well oh it's the biggest. So far two nine five it's the biggest so far with the taylormade sldr wow that after that first one it needed something special and it certainly delivered just that so one shot each left very close matchup now that's not a bad hit for the big berth it's coming back with a bit of vengeance after that big taylormade shot 276 and still better than my normal average bought the taylormade i think this could be the victory shot. For the taylormade this really only got to put it out there at about 280 and it should have this one should have this tied up boom that's gotta be long two nine eight mr taylormade slider so or sldr should we say wow what a battering battered it taylor made sldr from my test using closed measurements you know on gc2 real golf balls the taylormade sldr battered the new callaway so let's have a look at the averages of distance there i mean not only is it hit the longest i mean it's a shame it hit that first one not quite as good as it could have done. So if you have a look at the callaway first they had an average carry distance of 277 which is pretty decent you know that's not nothing to be sniffed at really certainly my normal lung is about two six eight. So that's normally pretty good but have a look at the taylormade though so the taylormade average carry distance was two eight eight that's the taylormade sldr had carry distance of 288 its best distance was 298 the shot that i hit the grip the best had the fastest ball speed i think i've ever seen myself hit 168 miles per hour ball speed it had 14 degree of launch angle. And had 2 100 of backspin so a very very decent hit a little bit high launch than what i would normally get and very little spin give it a carry distance of 298 and a complete white wash of the the callaway even though callaway won the first round after that the taylormade hit the furthest on both the next.
Two shots and they averaged much much longer so guys that was my big long drive competition against the two big heavyweights these are the two golf clubs that are claiming to be the biggest we've got the taylormade sldr driver. And the big berth the kalo or the callaway big bertha but the taylormade sldr wiped the floor with it so guys thanks so much for watching please do check out my channel i've got other reviews another longish drive i did the i-25 against the callaway big bertha alpha which is worth watching as well. And i might use the winner of that against the winner of this video and put those two together as well but guys thanks so much for watching please do subscribe to the channel also check me out on facebook on twitter. And do comment like whatever you want to do share the video i would love to uh to show give this message to the whole the world that the taylormade managed to beat the callaway on this occasion thanks. So much for watching my name's been rick shields down here at traffic gold century manchester and the taylormade sldr won would you believe it you.
