Right guys so fairway wood time callaway big berth alpha 816 double black diamond and great big bertha so i've just done the drivers you can check those out on my channel uh brand new drivers to the extended family of callaway golf clubs that are coming out. And we've got now the fairway woods that match if you're ever unsure about who what's who's using what silver stripes is the great big birth of black stripes on the head cover is the alpha let's go big bertha let's go great big bertha on this review i'm going to do a separate review. For the uh for the alpha as well um mini boxing glove or mini oven glove whichever you want to think about it let's say becoming a lot more popular these days i'm going to hit it with real golf balls gc2. And it's got the same kind of comic look to it as the driver has as it's as its dad's got um no sliding weight along the back. But it has got adjustability so i've got this in 15 degrees but it can go down by one. And up by two um there's a kind of screw in the middle it doesn't do anything. So it's just there for decoration um hyper speed face cup so fast speed off the face i presume that's that's kind of the big the big tagline with that um the speed face anyway it definitely is um shallow face i'm gonna hit some off the tee hit some off the deck. And see how it performs i like the look of this a lot because i like the shallowness shallowness of the face love that about a wood i've got this in uh akuru cage stiff flex on this um i've got it in 15 degrees let's give it a hit so looks wise it's almost a bit a bit triangular along the back and i like that again i like the look of this club a lot let's give it a hit see what it does oh oh yeah i felt pretty awesome uh two five seven carry 277 total it. For me it was the feel of the shot it went a little bit left granted. But it was the feelers shot that really gave a lot of a lot of good feedback off the face then.
Felt really good it sounded amazing as well i'm not just talking lent i'm not just hitting as hard as i can either i'm really trying to hit straight shots trying being the operative word there oh yes loving that flight i love the i don't know. But it's the sound that i'm really liking at the moment i don't know whether it sounds more like the old kind of steelheads remember the callaway steelheads where they've gone with the same kind of idea with it being great big berth obviously an old name new club i don't know whether they've managed to make the acoustic the acoustics of the golf club sound the same i love the sound of that let's go off the deck so always a an issue with three wood you can make them long you can make them go well off the tee can you make them perform off the deck let's see how it does i love the slim profile of this it makes me confident that i can actually hit it off the floor well oh i've cut it i've cut it ah let's hit another one still nice don't see what it does on a misperformed shot still got up there it's missing greens going into par fours. Or par fives there and really missing missing a lot of things that wasn't a particularly great shot let's go a couple more well that's i'm just thinking direction sorry that was more me i didn't explain that before that was more me not the club that's a lovely shot that felt great i like what they've done with this they've they've i don't know they've made quite a simple three wood they've not gone super long let's hit it as far as it can possibly do can. And get too close to a driver you saw the drivers before if you've seen the review i've still got another 40 yards between this and the driver where maybe the place of the mini goes the 1.5 or or a similar club or i could even go one less loft on this and drop it down to 14. if i dropped it down to 14 i'd probably need something like a 5 wood or a rescue in this i guess what they brought out in these heaven woods uh heavenwood yeah heavenwood. And divine wood like a seven wood and a nine wood do you remember those loved them loved seven woods. And nine woods and i reckon they've been missing off the market for a long time so they've come out now in the great big bertha lofts with a heaven wood so it's like a seven i think it's about 20 degree of loft. And the divine which don't quote me on this but i think it's about 24 degrees. So almost like a three and a four hybrid golf club i love that seven woods and nine woods they even made it remember the they even made an eleven wood once once upon a time i was like i thought i was heaven actually. But heaven seven into it and divine is nine. So guys great big bertha should we have a look at some numbers quickly before we get into the alpha so four or five shots though i might just hit one more off the t um average carry distance two five three with the best one carrying it two five seven the worst one at two three nine which was that horrible little cutty one to the right that was more me not the club um club head speed's really fast on that i suppose the lightness of the head helps you really generate that club speed 100 nearly 112 almost faster some of the driver shots i was hitting obviously then.
The ball speed dilutes a little bit because the loft of the golf club. And the length um yeah really good it does kind of what it does i like the slimness to the face uh it's not too all singing. Or dancing with too much adjustability so you've only got the loft to change i love the black head with the silver finish let's go one more off the uh off the tee finish with a good one should we i'm going to go straight over distance let's see if i can hit that line that middle line that's good come on hit the middle line stay there stay there not bad at all guys thanks.
