All right guys so we're down here with rob potter testing the new cobra fly z plus iron so this is first on the second now ever cobra first of a second coat yeah we've just done the fly z which is the bigger version this is a 6i news hitting which was carrying kind of about 150 odd yeah this is now the slightly smaller seven iron. And this is a forged head kind of in that middle mark of the set again. So it's not it's not mega forgiving it's not a blade no it's what do you think i like the look of it i really do um back of the club you know as the design wow factory always is it looks really really nice um very discreet very neat very tidy it's not very it's not very bold. And humor and cobras i thought it was going to be there's nothing john cena you know it's not like a golf club on prozac no you know nothing like that at all you carried that about i don't even know did you see why it carries uh it's about 130 131 four yards. But it's like my usual yeah. So i don't think it's going to be mega strong i'd be surprised if it's an awful long way no i mean like with the other one before there's there's nothing of the club that's a wow factor it's just an all-around nice club yes you know uh it's not got middle child syndrome. But it's it's just nice um middle child syndrome right got it robo i said that's it again it was a lovely flight yeah very nice flight it looks nice when you look at it from the top edge it's a little bit thinner than what the other ones were only a wee bit though uh not a lot of offset in this one again um it's nice flight it's nice very nice flight flight it's very nice on it better hit yeah longer hit slightly better hit one three seven i see a couple more does it feel softer does it feel can you it's not as what do you think about the sound because that was the biggest thing that i noticed between the fly yeah z. And the flies plus the sound again the flight the sound on this is a little bit more deadened uh again more discrete um yeah definitely certainly when i was listening to yours it was a lot more discreet this time yeah oh god yeah compared to the flies in the flies i was it was like yeah this one the fly z plus just seems very it's mellow just nice nice nice iron sound this is really nice i've got to admit it's uh it felt nice. And it it sounded nice oops yeah the hospital was all right pushed a wee bit. But it was nice a little bit shorter this might not be the best yeah. But that might be a good idea see we just had an interval break and i think rob's just bits over to the uh to the pub don't tempt him you'll be over there in a shot i've got a murderer i think i i owe you a couple of pints tonight to be fair. So i've got more good shots after my effort yesterday no that was pants would you say it's harder to hit uh i won't say it was harder to it no no that that's just me eating it crap okay uh genuinely i'm not i'm not saying it's it's no harder to hit than the other rounds out of it today.
Um like i said there's nothing there's nothing about it that stands out. And going this is different this is this was competing against the ones that you've tested the nike vapor pro combos yep the callaway x r pro yeah. And the taylormade rsi rsi2 that's its competitors yeah yeah with the uh ricky failer thing um yeah i think it's going to help him with ricky yeah um well obviously lost pull to now they did yeah. And the thing is with polter because paul no offense to pulse i like the guy i think he's brilliant he wasn't doing much he hadn't set the world on fire since since his medina since the whole ryder cup thing he's done nothing no in comparison ricky's come along. And he's coming took the mantle and run with it yeah. And he's had a good season and a season to a season and a half yeah he's con he's following on this season how he's finished off last season. So they needed cobra needed a big well marketing factor they've not really had that since norman left them yeah uh they haven't had that at all you give me some great knowledge i don't even know if you know it's easy no he's with him right now since greg left them they've had nothing they had steve jones who won the us open uh it was with corbett. And that was just a one it wonder flash in the pan yeah uh. And they've had nothing really since i love your golfing knowledge right give me two more two more nice ones with the fly z plus yeah they're there. And there abouts for you i'm not i'm not swinging all the parts just cool down a wee bit but uh let's go two more okay yeah nice shot that was better nice shot last one because there was a there was a middle one there that we'll probably have to take out a bit of a shotgun okay give us one last one okay you ready yeah we're good okay yeah nice there. So there's a little bit of weight in toe and heel which is going to help you with a bit of off-centered hits yeah you've hit them relatively middle just not performing the longest hitting no no there's not been. So you're averaging there at one three two that's which is pretty much what i'm hitting normally that's about normal isn't it. So not the most powerful clubs in the world so that's a worry uh because i'm using ions that are probably four. Or five seasons old yeah. And i'm getting nothing more out of this than no matter what currently getting no i would i'd agree it feels nice you know don't don't get wrong it feels nice it feels a little heavier okay uh the club actually feels heavier than what i'm currently using at the moment as well i don't know that that might be true might not be true i don't know what the whether this tungsten weight is a bit bit more heavy towards that. And i mean there's weights on the toe. And the heel which is helping support stability across the face. But you know what distance wise i don't think it is a distance iron view i think the fly z the normal one is the distance yes two ratings from you 5z first because i didn't get a rating from you. For that no you didn't do it. So give us a rating for the fly z if you've not checked out my rob's review flashy seven seven and a half seven and a half fly z plus uh 6.9 there's not much in them no. But the certainly the fly z for distance wise that was up there shame we've not got two seven nines to compare. But yeah they're up there the fly z plus just didn't quite perform distance.
