Right guys you've met me in my uh my natural habitat on the golf course in the really deep deep horrible horrible rough right we're down here at prince's golf club today.
Um i'm just doing a few little quick tips top tips this one is getting out of the real deep thick stuff. So i've just missed the fairway which i normally do. And i found the cabbage i found the horrible horrible rough the really thick wispy long grass which is just. So hard to go off um i'm gonna talk about what we can do to damage you know limit your damage on this circumstance. So in from turning this from what could still be a bogey instead of a triple bogey and about how to best kind of manage situations like this so the first decision we've got to make when when in this type of situation is what is reasonable what is a reasonable outcome. For us for this situation so you know we're on a path forward in the hole still a good 180-90 yards away so i would normally be hitting five iron but that's just not presenting enough loft to get the ball out of that rough just not at all it's not doing it and whatever club i use in this the loft will get diluted anyway it'll often start to snag down. And start to deal off anyway so as soon as i use a five iron it might you might as well be hitting the two iron so that is gone i can't hit that not a chance. So i've got to use something that's going to get me to a position where i'm back on the fairway some that limit damage limitation i'm not turning this into an eight i'm keeping it at a five. So i've got my sand wedge here my 56 degrees now just bearing in mind what i said a minute ago as the club snags. And you will purposely be trying to probably punch this out lower you'll probably lean the shaft forward slightly. So you'll de-loft the golf club generally generally um important things we've got to do from here. So first off take plenty of loft loads and loads of loads aloft the next.
Thing is making sure that we hold the golf club tight enough. So it doesn't snag and twist because grass like this will grip your golf club. And it will make the ball make the club face shut down. And go severely to the left not something else we've got a bear in mind so our fair way's down i'm gonna aim just down the right hand side with lots and lots of loft i'm gonna hold the club tight quite tight i would place the ball slightly further back in my stand compared to what i would normally do just to make sure that we're going to hit the golf ball first keep the grip tight ball slightly back in my stance i'm going to really grip onto it i'm going to hit this one hard you can see there i mean i've advanced that down the fairway probably another 100 odd yards down the fairway. And that's all we can do from that light it really is you could see the big lump of grass that i took as a hit you can see the debris that i took make sure you do take that to grip all the club tight loads. And load the loft like that aiming just down the right of what i would anticipate the golf ball to go i'm hitting it really hard to get it out of that run i'd like to say it's just getting it far enough down there to give yourself a chance for example if i try and hit a five iron from this just to give you a bit of an idea this in horrible lie i've got the club that i would normally generally hit i'm not looking forward to this oh so i've hit that about 80 yards nowhere near accurate the club slightly twisted it's just not a valuable shot that's gonna now it's put me in even further off the damage limitation take plenty of loft grip on tight and then.
Anticipate the golf ball might go slightly to the left anticipate that as you hit guys thanks for watching if you enjoyed the video give it a thumbs up please do subscribe by clicking the link down below you can comment as well i'd really hate i'd really like to hear what your thoughts are on that simple tip to get out the really deep roof guys thanks.
