All right guys welcome back to the channel first off thanks for all the love on the sam horsefield video it's crushed it how awesome was sam someone to follow definitely. For the future now i'm just online here at the moment i've seen a package set by taylormade which have intrigued me i've done a couple of packages so far on the channel you remember the callaway ones i got from costco and i've recently done a set from cobra as well but this package sets from taylormade one of the biggest brands in golf what's different is it's a bit more pricey it's a thousand pounds you get driver three wood hybrid i believe a few irons. Or wedges of putter i don't fully know what it is. But check out that how good does this look. So let's go and buy a set let's go and take out the golf course and see what it does i might even hit some of the driving range. And you know what i'm feeling pretty generous and because we are fast approaching 2 million subscribers i'm gonna give this package set away at the end of this video somebody who likes comments. And subscribe to the channel all right let's go shopping all right guys so we're here not sure how much i'm going to be recording in shop i just hope they've got them in stock it'll be a bit of a waste if they've not let's go. And find out i need steel right handed that's all i need all right so they've got some in which is good on first inspection actually quite good [Music] right. So first off i want to dive into exactly what i've got in this package set so let's start off with the bag it's a trolley bag and it does look quite good i'll be honest i wouldn't have minded a stand bag i think that would have been a nicer addition. Or maybe even an option then.
The putter is a mallet putter really impressed because of two things one it had pure roll face insert which is a technology tailor made of used in the past. And it had a really good padded head cover good attention to detail there next.
Up sand wedge and you might think well it's just a sand wedge gotta be honest in most package sets you get quite a chunky oversized sand wedge not in this set it was bladed it looked the part i was really impressed with that. And that's in a sandwich which i'm predicting is probably about 56 degrees. And then.
The irons you get six down to pitching wedge and the irons are kind of oversized. For giving irons effectively um not much wrong with the irons you can tell again they're not taylormade's most premium product ever. But as a package set iron gold they looked very very good now moving into the woods you get a four hybrid at 22 degrees you get a three wood at 15 degrees and you get a 460 cc driver at 10.5 degrees again all come with head covers that match the putter head cover all again good quality now there's a couple of little blemishes that i did see however. on the driver the top line where the paintwork starts to come in just wasn't particularly very clean you could tell it wasn't the attention to detail is definitely lacking now overall i think this package set looks really good. And in this video i want to answer two main questions number one who is this package set actually aimed at. And also number two is this one thousand pound package from taylormade a phenomenal deal. Or is it a massive rip-off. So the first thing i did was i tested the putter [Music] that's quite cool overall the feel off the face is very very good the slight downside is a fraction lighter than what i'd like it to be. But that is really my only criticism the shape the role i got off it. And i hold some phenomenal puts big tick for the putter let's draft the back of testing that putter if i was to grab a normal spider putter now that's how it feels like this is their premium putter line yeah just straight away sounds daft as soon as i put it behind the ball just the head has more weight to it it just feels like i understand where the putter head is see what it feels like off the face i mean it's a terrible port. But i'll be honest feel off the face similar maybe this one's a fraction softer but there's not a lot in it the biggest difference is definitely the weight between those two putters now the sand wedge as i mentioned before this sand wedge looks fantastic it's kind of slightly bladed it almost looks like a specialist wedge you'd buy separate from a set of irons i was really impressed with that. And again the performance was really good it felt good off the face i wasn't noticing loads. And loads of spin but overall as a sand wedge it did exactly what it needed to do. So moving into the irons i actually hit a few sneaky ones as soon as i bought the clubs at the driving range and i wasn't getting loads of feedback by them being a little bit hard off the face but when i took them out on the golf course again i was quite impressed. And they feel quite strong lofted i was actually finding that i was hitting the ball a pretty decent length with them i didn't get loads. And loads of forgiveness on the irons even though they do look like a forgiving model if i struck them badly i was punished. But overall don't mind the look of them and i didn't mind the performance now moving into the hybrid and the 3-wood for me these clubs actually look really clean i liked how the hybrids sat behind the golf ball and also the 3-wood very impressed with the cosmetics performance wise again similar to the irons when i hit them really well and i hit a worldly of a hybrid shot it came out brilliant exactly what i'd expect the downside when hit off center i did see drop off in performances whether that's shaft related. Or head technology or whatever it may be i just wasn't finding i was getting loads. And loads of forgiveness which is the downside. But one thing i really wanted to find out about this set was how's the driver gonna perform okay. So this driver isn't in my spec ten and a half degrees and a softer shaft i'd normally use so i'm not expecting it to carry 280 yards because that would be kind of too ambitious if i'm honest for this driver for me i'd expect in this spec if i can be carrying the ball 270 i think it's done a pretty good job [Music] just discovered something very interesting just been hitting the first few shots there. And i'll be honest i was close to the middle. But didn't hit the middle i was kind of circulating around it that last one i'm not sure if you can see the ball mark was absolutely center of the center come look at this now before this last shot all of them were carrying around about 260s when i absolutely crushed it 278 carry 159 ball speed 2100 spin. But i don't think that's obtainable on miss strikes i absolutely middled that. And it went the distance i'd expect a premium driver to go if you want to win this exact set i'm going to give them away to somebody who's watching this video right now all you've got to do is like the video subscribe to the channel. And leave a comment down below we're fast approaching two million subscribers let's go if you're not subscribed yet make sure you do we'll be giving these clubs away who are these clubs aimed at well in a modern world that we're living right now everybody wants things easy. And fast and for me these clubs cater that type of customer so for me it's a young professional who they may work in the city and they've got a big golf day coming up and they want to look the part and they go into the shop and they buy this set because they know they'll turn up in a big corporate golf day in the professional kind of manner and they'll fit in lovely i don't see this being a set for a hardcore golfer somebody who's built this set up to suddenly go yeah let's get rid of all that. And buy these so to answer the big question is this set from taylormade which costs a thousand pounds is it a rip-off. Or is it an amazing deal i would say it sits somewhere in between. And i'll tell you why i think the price is too expensive. For a package set of clubs i think 1 000 pounds you can go out. And buy a phenomenal set of clubs that are going to be tailored to you. For a thousand pounds you can do that however. if you're thinking about taylormade as a brand all the innovation they've done all the ways that they've crafted their clubs to the highest spec they're taking some of that information in. And packaging it up in a set that you can buy straight away i think there's something quite clever in that. For me they are overpriced they're not a ripoff as such. But they're not an amazing deal thanks for watching guys stay tuned lots more to come we'll see you soon.
