Or is it check out this ball from kai day the dimple pattern on this is crazy now they claim because of the dimple pattern it goes further because it has 18 less drag well let's see if that's the case. And give this golf ball a test so before i smash driver with this ball and test it against some pro v1s i think it's important to get it on the short game let's hit some puts some chip shots. And some pitch shots and i think it's only right to cut this bad boy open the dimples are crazy. But what is inside let's get to the putting green first to see how it feels [Music]. So [Music] okay. So before cutting the golf ball open i want to give a bit of feedback on the short game the box says it's pro soft and i actually use a google translate because the whole of the back of the box is all in japanese. So i've translated it and it apparently it says it's soft from my findings on the short game it was not soft it was hard as nails pitching into the green it was okay it spun a little bit. But nothing more than expected um nothing i could tell from the flights yet from the actual dimple effect whether it improved the flight one thing i did notice though after just a number of shots the grass seems to get into these unusual dimples a little bit more. And that's going to take a bit more of a scrub to get out right let's cut this open though i just find this dimple pattern. So unusual depends how you look at it it's almost looks like little flower symbols and also if you look at it in a certain way it almost looks like the mercedes-benz logo kai day pro 99 the number of this right like i said it was hard as nails hitting it. And it's pretty hard in that initial cut it claims to be a three-layer golf ball what we're going to see inside are we going to see anything unusual let me just get rid of those they're not normal not massively i tell you what it's quite fascinating though that outer layer hopefully you can fit this up on the camera it's almost well it is see-through it's actually more of a of a transparent layer then.
You've got the two layers inside that's. So fascinating i've not really seen a golf ball like that before so that's what it looks like inside i'm not going to use that one let's get to the t let's hit the kai day pro with driver. And compare it against pro v1 and see if it actually does go any further i'd be interested to see if it does okay. So we're on the t ready to hit driver to see if the kai day goes further a couple of things i want to highlight first off this ball is legal. So conforms to usga and rna rules which is a bonus. And on here the kai day dimple reduces drag by 18 compared to a traditional rounded dimples and that claims then.
To go further because of that reduced drag and on here we've got pro v1 as we've all become accustomed to the round dimples and then.
We've got the kai day look at the difference not only the color but the dimple pattern is incredible price wise kai day's actually going to cost more i bought these online. For 55 pound a dozen so over in the states that's probably around about 70 dollars which is mega expensive more expensive than pro v1 i'm gonna do this test with five balls of each. And i've not got a launch monitor because the car day is all about performance in the air my gc quad does not measure that it only measures the initial hit let's go five with each i'm excited candicaid that one that one go further [Music] that's ripped that is ripped okay does the kai day go further well i've hit five with each the kai day was definitely harder sounded a little bit louder. But does it mean the ball went further let's go. And find out okay. So we're down on the fairway and let's see if the kai day actually outperformed the pro v1s let's fly up in the air so i can give you a full perspective now as you can see from here this is where i've hit the pro v1s i've hit four. Or five absolute monsters i think one to the left. But not bad goal shots right kai day did it outperform the pro v1 did they go further did that 18 less drag work well here is where i hit the kai day golf balls. And as you can see they're not bad results some of them found the middle of the fairway. And a couple of them went wide but not bad distance wise for me no longer than the pro v1. So that dimple pattern wasn't making much of a difference for the price tag and the fact that they promised that they're going to go longer when i tested it i did not find the kai day golf balls went further guys thanks.
