Hi my name's rick shiels here in trafford golf center in manchester i'm in my teaching day and i'm doing some driver testing today.
To give get you a bit of an understanding of which driver of the eight hottest drivers in the world i'm going to go the furthest i'm going to pitch two against each other i'm going to draw the names out the hat. And we're going to hit five golf balls five real golf balls we're gonna take the worst two out. And we're gonna see the average of the best three and see how kind of how far we're hitting them and see which one's going to be beating the other one. So it gives you a bit more of an educated decision when you go out and buy one so i've got all the names in the hat i'm going to draw two against each i'm not going to look. So we've got the cobra amp the cobra amp with all its bright colors i've got it in grey today.
But we've got the gray one so let's see what else it's pitching up against oh the callaway x hot so we've got the callaway xl it's going to be pitching up against the two grey drivers this is going to be interesting. So we've got the two drivers here both i've got a nine and a half and standard shaft it's on the stiff shaft chasse and they've both got loads of different options of changing the loft and changing the the uh the height everything the adjustability and direction that's not the other but we're gonna test them solely today.
On pretty much distances really. So we've got the callaway exot against the cobra amp cell we'll go with the amp cell first so i've actually i must admit i've actually not hit this driver yet at all um so we've got real golf balls i'm going to hit five we've already got two pick we're gonna hit five with each. And a quite a nice day here in manchester so we'll see kind of what distances this is getting lots of height lots of players using this pulse. And guys that are using this quite a bit loads of different color options. But we've got the grey which i think looks quite nice behind the golf ball at the moment just dead simple cobra orange right at the top um a bit of a jazzy shaft a fujiko fuel shaft. But it's a bit of a jazzy colour so we're going to go with five shots take two out. And leave you with our best three i do like how it looks behind the ball i must admit oh that sounded nice it's got a little bit left on me that sounded nice. And i've got some distances on that i'll just get another ball ready if this is the first video you've watched i have done some more already i've probably already uploaded some of some of the other tests that i've done that's a decent start 293 it's not too bad at all. So the two grey drivers which one's going to win we'll see straight i think it's going to be the longest i've ever hit with it straight 287 try. And crank it up a little bit now rick let's get a bit of a hit on it that was nicer that was more out the middle a little bit of shape on it a little bit of drawing it could be long i think it's what the cobra needed really a bit of a long hit oh no it's not you know what surprised me 278 i thought it was longer than that we've got two more with the cobras it's not bad a little bit of that left hand side again it seems to be seems to be favoring the left side of this club must i know it's not normally kind of the ball fight i'd say 283 got one more to go tried to give that a little bit more of a hit it's got there got a bit of distance on that one. So we'll take out the the worst two leave you with a bit of an average not a very you know they're very very close together uh worst two was that one. And that one so it's left us with an average of two eight nines 289 is not too bad um. But then.
We've got the callaway x hot now i've hit this before and i do rather like it this is the one that looks a little bit more like the old classic big bertha head. So now i'm going through my practice boards quite nicely it's got the uh callaway x hot lovely looking head loads of adjustability on it let's see what it does see what distance we got with this bad boy it's a nice start well it's going to go the best distance in the world. But it's a decent start two eight nine to beat with the uh the cobra 290 not a bad start at all see if we can get this spreading it's uh spreading its running legs a little bit oh that was human error that's a bad golf swing apologize callaway. So i wasn't the best golf shot i've ever hit but like i say i want to be honest to my viewers i'm not gonna make any numbers up 280 still on that not bad for a miss strike let's go three more oh that was nice that was more like it yeah that was a nice hit should get some nice distance on that one a 289 to beat the uh the cobra 306 it's more like it it's more like the calix hot that i know. And love not that i'm biased in this resort at all but i do like this one right we've got two more that could be big he's got a chance 317 of course it's got a chance it was massive 317 this could blow the other one out the water this could really blow the cobra out the water let's go. For one more oh it's not bad it's not bad at all let's have a look at distance on that one oh the three la three last ones were unbelievable. So taking the first two out it's got an average of 308 so it's actually well it's battered the cobra it's absolutely battered it a good what's that 19 18 yards difference huge difference was the uh cobra again i'm sure you guys remember 289 308 really nice big difference there 19 yards difference between the two interesting interesting result there i think the callaway there just excel those last three once i found the middle of it 317 was its longest hit with that uh where the the cobra was kind of very consistent around the 290 mark um clear winner. For me there excerpt callaway xr clear winner on that uh felt nice to hit like i've not done a great deal of work with the cobra before just never kind of quite seen the appeal of all the different colours of heads and stuff but suit some people thanks very much for watching guys please do test all products though this is just my kind of video. And my opinion on this stuff it's what flight scope is telling me. So i'm not kind of making any rules up i've tried to make it as far as i can it real golf balls uh on a real driving range with with a sonar tracking device.
