Hi guys my name's Rick shields down here at traffic golf Center in Manchester and we've got a Mizuno driver I've never tested a Mizuno driver yet and I can't wait to test this this is the GPX 850 driver one that's been talked about. For quite a while because I think Luke Donald's been using it. For a bit and it's I like it it's got some very clever design features that hopefully will enhance your performance get you hitting the golf ball better. So the GP first thing that strikes us is the big blue head. So it's not actually maximum size this driver it's only at 440 CC not quite sure why whether they've noticed that the spin rates are better with the 440 I mean you're on the top. And a little bit off so forgiveness level it'd still be pretty high big blue head black face black bottom and adjustability galore at the bottom of this now what what I do like actually comes with a manual now any driver that comes with a manual must be good. So there's two weights that are in position er here at the bottom of the Gulf right in the middle now they can be moved loads of different ways they can actually take. And completely out the head and they can be either one can be put in the toe one can be put in the heel one can be kept in the middle of the head through the back further forward one in the sack. But one in the heel one in the toe load the different adjustability options to help refine your performance refine it i've actually got this in the setting that currently suits my game the best i'm probably at the end of the video we're going to swap it to a slightly more forgiving position. And it's got loads of adjustability in the neck regards to the loft and i can't believe how much it moves actually from seven and a half degrees all the way up to eleven and a half degrees and there is also an upright setting from eight. And a half degrees to 11 and a half as well that is a lot of that's a lot of range of mobility. And a lot of different loft options it really is. So the setting I've currently got it I've got both the detachable weights so this is the fast-track technology I've got both of them in the middle channel. And all the way forward as close to the front of the head as I can get from other driver manufacturers it's showing that the moving the center of gravity further forward the lower the spin is going to be I've got this in ten point five degrees. And I've just got it in the standard stiff flex at the moment so this is the future chorus deflects the one that comes with the Mizuno driver I'm gonna be hitting some real golf balls down on GC 2. And hit through maybe five in this current setting and then.
Just change into the setting that allows the head to be a little bit more forgiving in the weights either side again it's to help stabilize a bit of a movement on the head I like it I mean at the moment the blue the blue is nice it's blue blue it's Mizuno blue it's very blue. And it's it's fine it's not a bad looking head it's got the Mizuno symbol clearly Logan on top for alignment got a couple of these irons here towards the toe in the heel again I'm guessing that's helping with the alignment of the club head and with the 440 had it doesn't seem monstrous it doesn't seem really really big club head right let's give it a bit of a hit that felt nice outfit did feel good actually now as a prediction I'm not expecting the longest hitting golf shots I've ever hit in my life I mean if I get one over 300 I will be amazed. And delighted at the same time so we've got 289 total distance to 69 carry distance and a spin rate of 2,400 which is good that's not a bad little spin rate I probably like to see it a little bit lower maybe near to 2000 I felt like hit that one really well 110 miles per hour club head speed. So a few more laughs that did feel good it felt like a really solid hit I won didn't feel quite as solid. So we're good I'd be interesting to see again the forgiveness level on a slightly smaller headed driver you know what that's all right up to 218 I didn't I didn't absolutely middle-middle out you can see it's just a little bit off the bottom it slightly spun up a touch higher. So near to 3000 and I want to show you that can aside to a driver as well you know I am NOT a robot I wish I was. But I'm not so I'm going to hit bad shots off on occasions that was a bit off the bottom I wanted to show you still the result. And also what happened to the spin numbers that jumped up a little bit higher than what we want it to I don't believe it's anything to do with the 440 head I believe it's to do with me not hit in the middle quite as good as I should've done right. So a couple more feels good does fit it does it's nice it's a very good feeling driver gives you a lot of positive feedback it gets to 300 I'll be amazed the up to 95 it's not bad though we can live with that 2200 spin great straight location really good club head speed it just feels like a really good solid hitting driver I don't know if I mentioned to start the video I've got this in 10. And a half degrees you know if I did mention it. So I better just mention it again maybe in different settings you could tweak and align that loft but this is more of just a performance based of what this driver has to offer the overview. And the and the difference in weights etc writes it a couple more that's three so far and so it's got two more with the the set and I've currently got it in but I'll tell you what that could be knocking on the door 300 that really did feel fantastic off the face is it going to get there is it oh said knocking on the door Wow it is literally wiped it feet. And then.
Turned away I mean can you believe 299. And it I must admit I'm warming to this driver a lot more than then.
First perceived I mean looks-wise it's it's nice it's not. For me it's not striking mid to be in a club that I would look at using all the time but it's a I can see it's got it'll have a massive market in Mizuno got such a large following. And I've done the ions in the past that you know the the following is absolutely huge. So I'm sure loads and loads of people will be using this driver right this is a little weight I've just taken one of the weights out I'm going to put it in the toe tell you what one features Mizuno you've made incredibly easy to use wrench well done this is far easy. And a lot of the other ones I've used I'm going to take the other way out this is the secondary weight oops let's not drop it Rick. And lose one and then.
Put it in the heel that's simple to do now this has changed hopefully a little bit forgiveness level a little bit of the flight. So I'm currently averaging there at two nine one total distance including that bad one that hit 270 carry distance and a spin rate of 2500 and again that was one of the bad ones in there. But I want to include them all there's no point in you know I could probably tell I went out. And it would drop near to 2000 I would rather key from all in right let's see what this does let me just I'm fat it's what I show you the manual this is the manual that actually comes with all of a LOF anything with a manual I never read them really. But it's always nice to sometimes use so what's this saying straight lower spinning and straight that's this setting I've got it in alright. And it must it must do a little bit to the moment of inertia the twisting it must do because it should be a little bit more stable to it towards the toe in the heel right let's set a couple in this setting. So it should be slightly lower spinning it may get over 300 yards it feel good it's definitely a different ball flowers that's a bit left and I'm not I'm not pleased with the golf shot there but let me go another one that wasn't brilliant I see what's pin numbers were anyway - 1800 Wow megalo spin megalo not going to do one more thing just add a little bit more loft. So I'm going to I'm going to put this up to 11 in fact it can't then.
It'll go up to 11. And a half I'm going to just very quickly pop this into eleven. And a half and I think with that spin rate I think we've got 300 on our hands comfortably I like this it's just a nice little driver that you can refine. And maybe got yourself maybe don't you refine it maybe get get a fitter or make sure you're on a launch monitor when you actually get adjusting easiest wrench ever felt I was the Callaway wall about my use old. But it must be the screwing mechanism then.
They're very easy right more loft let's get that spin rate the same let's get big that felt awesome that felt really solid God get over that get over get over get over get over get over Oh we'll go another one one more maybe a fraction outlet all that time I saw buckets spin again incredible spin numbers it's doing what it's delivery it's doing what it says it's doing it's delivering if you move these weights there will be an adjustment. And there is right last one last shot of the day see what let's see what the Mizuno driver can do can it break the 300 with that low spin with that bit of loft with it's big knocks a big blue head I don't know don't if it's all the way there it felt good again go go go go go Gary Gary Gary Gary go I've got a hit one more sorry guys have you ready to comment like do all that as you're watching this last shot do subscribe to this channel appreciate you watching.
