So regular viewers of my channel will know that i'm looking. For a new set of irons at the moment i've had a bladed set in the bag for a while the pink blueprint i'm looking for a set that gives me a little bit more forgiveness you might have seen in recent days i've tested the taylormade p770s the new mizuno irons the new taylormade p7mbs but there's a set that i've got in the pack today.

That i'm more excited about than all of those put together. And it's these the new taylormade p7mcs [Music] so why am i excited about testing these well. For me they are right up my street. And what i'm looking for in a new set of irons first off it looks stunning i've said it with the p770s. And the p7mvs and it goes with this as well they're just gorgeous looking irons i love how simple they look they've got a little bit of a throwback styling to some older tailor-made irons in the past a bit of a nostalgic kind of tip of the heart to some legends of the past they're forged they are traditional lofted. So the 79's 34 degrees they've got this kind of cavity that's going all the way around the circumference of the head to give a little bit more protection off off-centered hits there's not a great deal of offset i mean they are stunning now believe it. Or not i don't actually remember if i've ever had a set of tailor-made clubs in the bag you know i don't think i ever have not in recent years. So this will be interesting. So i'm going to review them today.

Tell you who they're potentially aimed at. But also test them for my own potential position in the bag i'm excited i really am right first though i'm gonna kick off i'm gonna hit driver on this first par five. And then.

We'll get the irons in play [Music] that's the best one-handed drive i've ever hit straight down the fairway so you might have seen at the start of the year i did say i'm not going to change clubs just. For the sake of it if i'm going to change clubs i'm going to do it. For the benefit of my game helping me play better golf i don't play loads and loads of golf these days i obviously make the videos on youtube but it doesn't mean i still don't care about how i play golf it's. So you know passionate for me i still want to be able to hit good golf shots and the changes i've made so far this year i've put a new driver in the bag which has given me more forgiveness and that's kind of led me into potentially looking at changing my irons just want something that offers me a little bit more protection if i'm not hitting it great the other things that i definitely look for is looks i'm such a visual person when it comes to looks of a golf club. And as soon as i saw these i opened up the box and i couldn't wait to take them out the wrapper to give them a good look because they're just stunning like every single angle you look at it i'm a big fan and it sounds daft but even a big fan of that kind of like i don't know wait it has almost engraved taylormade logo there almost just sticks out the toe it looks really classy they are nice right i'm in the fairway let's go. And hit these irons for the first time this is crazy talking about forgiveness this is why i swapped to a new driver that offers me more forgiveness i hit that driver shot. So far from the heel it's unreal and because i've changed drivers recently it's given me a little bit more help and i've still found the fairway i think sometimes certainly myself as a golf professional you can be too almost proud you have to have a certain type of iron in your bag. Or a certain type of driver but you've got to get a set that suits your game and your needs and certainly at that time as well so that's why i am intrigued about testing these irons because again i do want clubs that just give me a bit of help if i don't hit it out the middle right i'm a long way from the hole on this par five which is fine let's uh let's kick things off. And hit the five iron first and it is the long irons i am very interested in testing because again it's just got that bit more weight. And around the head shaft wise and grip i've got the kbs tour x flex which i tested in the other taylormade's and i love them and this grip i'm very impressed with this is the z-grip golf pride i mentioned it before it's like a tire it's really good right first shot with the mcs they look nice behind the ball quite a nice blade length as well they're definitely not too small. Or compact let's go five iron first shot [Music] very nice very nice that felt good it sounded exactly how i want the club to sound and i've got to be honest i actually probably caught it about here just heel side of center wearing a more bladed club that would have probably got more punished but it's down there and it allows me now to test the pitching wedge into the green good start so that five irons left me 80 yards left to the flag and you know realistically i wouldn't hit a pitching wedge from here so what i'm gonna do i'm going to play my normal sandwich shot. And then.

Because the course is lovely. And quiet today.

And i really want to test these irons give them a proper go i'm going to concentrate i'm going to hit loads of shots from different locations certainly at the roof see how far they go in all sorts. And i'll report back in a second [Music] birdie on the first listen i'm not saying it's the irons that made that birdie but they were definitely part of it [Music]. So i've only done a tiny bit of testing so far but initial thoughts to feel really nice but what's come to hear if you remember i showed you in the ping video with the irons i currently use out of a situation like this in the long irons a blade is. So hard to hit so what what i'd like to find out if i hit the five iron from here this kind of cavity i'm 190 yards away from the green can it can it power me out of a situation like this come on look at these balls as well they just sat down in this kind of like clover-like rough that one's not terrible. But not great that one's horrendous i don't even know if you can see the golf ball. And then.

That one there on the end let's hit these three and see what these mc's the cabin muscle cavity can do from a situation like this [Music] that's what i want from an iron wow honestly i've not felt a shot like that out the rough of this kind of thickness. For an awful long time that was incredible now as i mentioned the second ball is a proper test that ball is. So sat down let's see if it can do something similar i'd be impressed if it did it's not bad it was tremendously hard like say these clubs aren't miracle workers potentially from situations like this. And i alluded to it recently maybe i just need to get a bit stronger out the roof that was okay last one this is more similar to the first lie [Music] very good chased past the bunker passed it oh that was a. But in fairness getting down close to the green is better than resorting to honestly sometimes i'm taking like an eight. Or nine just to get out of situations like that i'm happy with that i am it's not perfect but i'm much more confident hitting that type of iron out of the roof so genuinely i have not had a birdie opportunity from 190 plus yards out the roof but because i've just not had a club that can get me out of it. So let's see if i can capitalize i've hit a nice iron shot in let's see if i can hold the putt [Music] never mind new irons don't equal birdies. But i did feel more confident i could at least get on the green [Music]. So i've gotta say i'm impressed i'm enjoying playing with the p7mc irons they're doing everything i want a cavity muscle cavity to do great out the roof feel great look incredible the long irons offer a little bit of forgiveness which is nice to see. And we saw those shots out the rough well impressed for that that's really what i want to see with an iron like this i'm gonna play a few more holes i also want to test them i've hit a few shots already on gc quad i want to hit a few more on gc quad and just see what they're like in consistency of distances and also spin rate so we're going to test that next..

And then.

We're going to answer the question whether these clubs could potentially make it into the bag [Music]. So so you've just seen me hit those three eight iron shots into the screen that's what i'm happy with three shots there all pretty much in line with each other for distance control now granted there's actually a really hard pin to get to i can see one pitch mark two pitch mark. And a third run up here they've all kind of landed on this down slope and kicked forward but this is good this is what i want to see i don't want irons to go too hot. So i'll repair those pitch marks in a minute before playing the last hole it's worth noting i've not mentioned it in this video yet these irons are somewhat pricey. For a set of seven irons they're 1299 pound the same price as the mbs and the p770s the price has gone up taylormade have really kind of set their benchmark at this price level [Music] but it's hard it's a hard balance between price and performance but they are performing very nicely indeed [Music]. So in summary these irons are pretty awesome they're absolutely exactly certainly what i'm looking. For and they've not disappointed they've covered every single base and i think officially i've got a new set of irons in the bag i'm gonna put these in the bag the taylormade p7 mcs um they've done they've smashed out the park i've tested loads of irons recently. And these for me have been the best ones what's interesting i think they're going to cater. For a wide spectrum of golfer as well from kind of i don't know like a mid-teen handicap down to professional golfers i think they cater. For a long big wide spectrum beautiful love them so guys i'll put them in the bag and i'll document my first round of golf with them if you want to see that smash that like button but i think that'll be a a very fun video watching the very first official round the golf with my new irons in the back guys thanks. For watching hopefully you've enjoyed the video if you did smash like leave a comment down below make sure you subscribe to the channel. And welcome to my new golf clubs my new irons i won't bother putting with them and we'll see you next.
