Hi guys it's rick shields down here at quest golf academy here at prairie sports village i'm going to review the taylormade m2 fairway wood i've got the m2 fairway wood the new one. And i've also got the m2 tor fairway wood i wanted to wait i had both these in my hands before actually reviewing these two golf clubs i've reviewed the driver in the past and the irons the brand new ones for 2017 and how i'm going to work this i'm going to review the m2 now in this video. And the next.

Video i'm going to review the m2. But also look at the differences between these two golf clubs the m2 fairway wood this is a non-adjustable golf club you can't change the loft you can't change anything there's no sliding weights very unlike the m1 the m1 you can move a lot more this is fixed there is a panel behind the face where you can actually get faster balls being off off centered hits that's what this is claiming. And it is a very good looking design i love the black. And white contrast similar to what the m1 and m2 driver have had last year and this year and they've carried that on into the fairway woods as well the m2 of last year was unbelievably popular unbelievably popular visibly the top is the same a little bit slimmer white line i must admit more black. But the bottom is totally different my personal opinion nowhere near as nice it's not symmetrical i love the symmetricalness of the m2 fairway woods last year this now because they've incorporated this big panel out the toe to encourage geo-acoustic technology which is basically just sound um i just don't like how unsymmetrical it is that's just my personal opinion on it let's hit it i've got it in three-wood setting 15 degrees i've got it in just a standard what is this the reacts shaft the m2 standard shaft let's give this a hit it's slim it's super slim actually. And it goes back a long way the black section the carbon top actually goes back quite a long distance and it's rather rounded at the back as well i quite like that it it fills me with confidence as soon as i set that up behind the ball let's give this a here i'm hitting real pro v1s on gc2 and hmt that felt amazing i clipped that off the surface really nicely i put that green out at 275 which is a bit ambitious i must admit what did that carry out that came out. So good two five nine carry for 270 total distance we'll see some data here two eight spin one five four ball speeds that ball speed is super fast. For three wood that felt really good off the head i'll get some strike locations in a minute as well i'll show you where i've been hitting on the club face that felt unbelievably middled a little bit more of a high right one that time just got ahead of it myself a little bit too much just shows you what it can do on a bad hit still almost got up to that 250 yard mark about a bad bad golf shot. For my own personal shot i'm afraid losing a few to the right as of late um 242 carry uh i think that's just more power than anything else a lot of the other starts are actually pretty good ball speed is still quite high. But when you add that much loft and send it to the right it's never going to get the distance let's hit some nicer shots that felt superb okay i want to find a straight one in a minute i'm sure that's gone a long way that carried way into the 250s i like the sound of the head actually. And i found that with the hybrid i've just reviewed the m2 hybrid love the sound of that hybrid and i love the sound of this it's a real clack it's a real crack it's a dead dead feel but it's a real crack as you hit it where the m2 driver i just didn't like that was too loud it was almost ear piercingly loud well this feels like it's a really good almost a proper fairway metal almost has that kind of metally feeling to it even though it's multi-material with the carbon back to this golf club. So a couple more i will find this green should find her that should be safely to the right of the green absolutely not going to get there i thought that was good that time it does feel good off the head you know i'm a big fan of the feel of it it's it has that reminiscent of a proper metal club i know it's multi-material. But whether it's the sound it really has that good clap cracks to the uh strike of this wood and it gives it a really good feeling let's go one more we'll find fairway i'm going to show you some stats as well in those shots i'll say fine fairway i mean fine green felt. So good i suppose the green's not there to be hit today.

I'm afraid. But i've hit him very well actually the couple of these ones to the right i must admit and the one to the left but actual strike wise we see the data there one five one average carry distance for a one five six ball speed that is super fast the fact that i couldn't get the club face straight that time no real saying on the golf club if i'm honest there's no real reason why that shouldn't have stayed straight you can see my strike locations there pretty much in the middle of the club head my path. And my face just weren't quite marrying up on that particular series of five shots clever speeds were just under 110 ball speed nearly 160. that is super fast. For a fairway wood you don't often get those kind of regulations they're not as strict with fairway woods as they are with drivers. And sometimes you can get three woods that just have super hot spots on the driver that just goes a million miles i'm going to finish the review with just one more i feel like i can find the green slightly better i like the club i do. And i know i've not hit it dead straight but that's not always the case of how effective a good club is i felt like strikes were good i felt the ball speed was excellent the peak height the flight the sound the feel all of those characteristics i'll look. For in a club the way it sits behind the ball and now to finish the review with one on the green oh i don't think it's to be i don't think it's to be hitting that green. But feeling great and to try and hit green from 275 away it's probably not the easiest feat i really like that club i feel of it a lot the sound of it it feels like a solid metal wood and to complement that with how good it looks from behind the ball i just don't like the bottom of it i just think it's just kind of just made it look. So much nicer so much more symmetrical you know put a bit design work in the bottom there not just all these little bits of technology acoustic and stuff but overall i think it's a good performing club i think you're going to see it in a lot of players bags certainly the top players in the world are going to be using this as well. And we're now going to move on to the m2 tour it's a smaller version weight positioning is different i believe it's a bit of a rocket ship. And i want to see if that's the case if you enjoyed the videos hit thumbs up comment below what do you think of the taylormade m2 lineup this year the whole of the club range i've tested all of them.
