Hi guys my name is rick shields down here at trafford girl center in manchester. And we're testing a different version of the ping g30 driver today.

This is the ls tech low spin technology they've brought the weight that's positioned at the back a little bit further forward. And they've also brought the characteristics where it's lower launching and lower spinning into this driver so it's almost like they're like an i range driver with all the benefits of a g technology so the forgiveness of a g but the lower spinning lower launch of an eye range so it's kind of suited for players with maybe faster swing speeds who want to drop the spin rate of a normal g30 driver i'm going to test it let's give it a smash i'm going to hit it on gc2 real golf balls see how it performs it's supposed to spin less both the launch slightly lower it does look slightly different from the bottom. So it's got a matte finish this time and it's got a big kind of metal plate around the weight here as well i think that mainly it makes it stand out differently on the shelf personally i think it looks more like a premium drive of this now from the bottom i think it looks like a higher spec. But there's no difference in the spec it's just a lower spinning version suited to faster club head speeds now also recently since i got tested when i was at games where my club speeds increased. So i've actually gone up to an extra stiff driver extra safe shaft sorry so i'm going to do a video as well in the future where i'm going to test the extra stiff against the normal stiff. And i'm also going to have a video where i test the low spinning tech against the normal g30 we've still got turbulators of course it wouldn't be a g30 without it turbulator is reducing drag. And it's also got the adjustability we can go up. And down aloft and up and down half a degree i've actually got it suited up up and down 0.6 of a degree i've got it suited the best at 9.9 degrees that's when i've been testing it so far it's been pretty good so let's give it a hit like i said visually from the top there's no difference at all it's just a slightly uh moved forward weight center of gravity. And it's supposed to be low launching low spinning let's give it a hit yeah felt good felt nice hit see what the results are. So it's straight at least it's the bonus and that's the advantage of this driver it's a nice hit it's a good very good start i'm pleased with that spin rate so far 2180 anything around that 2000 mark for me with a ping g30 is good because when i've done it in the past it's normally been about two. And a half thousand i'm gonna hit a few more with it anyway see how it performs um but that's the thing with it it's a it's a g the forgiveness of a g driver but with the spin characteristics of an eye range which is going to suit i don't know maybe the better goal. For the golf who swings it a bit faster but still wants to find fairway it's another good hit definitely slightly lower launch on that one felt good yeah. So far so good great numbers just on that 300 mark and that's kind of on a good hit where i am i have two in a row and only three and four yards offline it's not bad at all a little bit high slightly higher spin than spinning the last one but still pretty low let's go a couple more yeah i felt good again look at those three i'm pleased with those oh very very nice 307 total distance. And i ranked the ping g30 my top 10 list a little bit lower why didn't they bring this one out sooner why didn't they bring the low spinning one out a bit quicker so i could have tested it it could have gone a bit higher in that list um but it shows that you know different spin characteristics can suit different golfers. So i'm getting the benefit of it being forgiving with it low spinning feels good never had anything against the g30 it just never quite performed as good as some others but this one seems to be right up there let's go a couple more oh i didn't hit that one great no i didn't hit that one amazing left hand side of the fairway is it still decent yeah it's not bad i'll tell you what i didn't i didn't feel like i hit that amazing now i know on some other driver's small headed version drivers i'd have got punished with that the spin has increased not much at all i'm still only 2 200 spin on average at the four shots let's go one more shot doing some research on this driver they were saying that it should reduce the spin by about 300 rpm to all the way up to 500 rpm. So like i'm gonna do a video on this against a normal g30 next.

For that it'll be interesting to see how it compares same shaft i put the extra stiff shaft in it which for me feels like it's suiting better seems to be hitting more fairways anyway let's go one more yeah very nice it's right down there again oh whoa oh my goodness of 324 finchy is just the over here i think 324th inch i'm catching you 324. vinci's over there saying rematch next.

Um the numbers don't lie let me pull them up. So we can actually see all of the averages now. So let's see have a quick look at that so 111 club head speed when i tested it previously i think when i was at gainesville i was under 110. So the extra stiff shaft nice little kind of spot there by the guys at ping they've sent me an extra stiff to suit my swing speed a bit more um it's the spin let's have a look at the spin backspin backspin total spin 2124 rpm that's good it's very good um 282 total carry distance for an average of 306 yards 306 average um but what's impressive my worst one offline was only 26 yards the rest of them were inside that 10 yard radius. And you know what i'm pleased with that i'm very pleased with it and for a driver that that possibly didn't suit me in the normal version because i know i hit the i-25 so incredibly well i feel like this has got the same characteristics of the i-25 but with forgiveness of a g-range i don't think it's going to suit everyone in the world i think it's going to be a suited. For faster swing speeds who want low launch low spin but tay watch right up there and for me looks wise visually from the above it looks more like a premium model stay tuned guys we are going to be doing a video this against the g30 the normal g30 see how it performs. We're doing a video with the extra stiff shaft against the stiff shaft and see what happens i can't wait to see what i'm just going to go in that completely unbiased.
