At formby hall golf club in southport i really want to thank phone behalf. For letting me come down to it do some filming did some course filming some challenges. And now i'm testing the nike 2.0 tour driver this is the one that i've tested the normal version last week. So you can check out my channel. For that but i think this one i've been looking forward to trying this because last year it wasn't as good as it it could have been it was quite hard to hit the tour version last time. But they've made the head bigger they've made it more forgiving they've reinforced this cavity pocket at the bottom so it's got still got this big hole in the bottom of the golf club but it's reinforced now and you can see that with the white kind of plasticky thing here at the back i don't know how much reinforced it. So apparently on off-center hits it's supposed to twist less you've still got the next.
Core face technology so it's producing fast ball speed and we've also got more adjustability on the neck we've got anywhere loft from 8.5 all the way to 12 and a half so you can get on a launch monitor. And check what ideal launch angle would be sorry best a loft angle would be best to improve your launch angle and get you hitting the ball as far as you can it's also got left right. And neutral settings so if it was. So biased against anything you can also change that as well i'm hitting this in the kuru cage stiff flex in 60 gram. And the difference between this and the normal version this has got a red tour wrap grip on nice squishy grip i'm becoming more of a fan of it the more times i'm kind of using this golf club but yeah i've not used it in wet conditions. Yet so i don't know how that would be we've got gc2 set up so we've got everything exactly how it would be normally at trafford we're hitting real golf balls real kind of of premier golf balls as well tight as probably ones etcetera like that to see how far this golf club will go now it's got a pitch up against the cover you can check out the cover video in the link description. Or you can check out my channel. For that that was carrying at 266 average carry distance i think this hopefully should carry a little bit further than that. So we're going to hit some real shots. And like i said i want to just thank again. For behold and certainly richie marsden who's letting me come down here today.
Do a bit of coaching they have a fantastic teaching studio down here using trap man. And everything else unfortunately someone's just teaching there at the moment so we can't get in there and actually do any any filming. But we're out the range we've got the gc2 set up and we're going to hit some real golf shots. So let's start off by just lining up a little bit so we know where we're going to be hitting too. And i love the look of this club i really love the look of the red i love i really liked it last year apart from the tour version just was not forgiving enough just didn't offer enough forgiveness a lot of players were starting on the tour version. And went on to a normal version it's got the black face on it which is an indication it's the tour version as well right let's give this a bit of a hit oh that was really nice off the face it's like it's going a decent way 268 it's not a bad start it's launched lower. And like what i kind of expected really it spun a little bit less the idea of this it's supposed to be a less spinny head so the center of gravity has been moved more forward in the head so it's supposed to spin a little bit less and that that spun at 2700 so 268 not a bad start and it only went four yards offline so it would have hit the fairway as well oh that is nice i'm a big fan of that that is really nice 276. more like the distance i would kind of be looking if i was to invest in a driver i'd be looking at about that kind of distance of hitting the ball. And again it went two yards to the right not a bad hit at all i really like this club a lot this is nice. And it seems to offer quite a high level of forgiveness that didn't feel like it was hit quite as middled. Yet it's still gone 265 so not a bad kind of off-centered strike so to speak it's still spinning up a little bit too high that spun up at 3 000 so just a fraction too high and it went how far off seven yards offline so not a million miles away but all three of these would have hit the fairway quite nicely all right i love it i absolutely love this golf club 264 but the feel off the face is phenomenal i really i'm a big fan of this like i said with the next.
Core face it's coming off hot it's coming off fast with the cavity. And the forgiveness level it is really good. So i'm averaging currently at two six eight let's give one more bit of a rip and see how far this one goes i reckon if i get this average over 270 i might have a new club in the back oh it wasn't it up the middle oh it was hit more into the walls the heel i'm gonna do one more that was a terrible goal shot i can't finish on that one that was right off the heel. But it still went too it went still went two um four six but it just wasn't hit how i would expect that last one to be hit so let's give one more because i've got a real nike golf ball this time that's more like it felt a little bit more at the middle yeah 271 that's more like the distance i'm expecting i know i've cheated a little bit there. And i've taken one out but that that really was more my fault than the clubs i really miss struck that goal shot. So if we look at the averages now if we took them on screen and we go through and we've actually got a carry distance there of 269 so for me it went about three yards further carry distance than the normal covert driver which is quite nice that's not a bad kind of forgive that's not quite that's quite a nice improvement it still spun a little bit too high. So it still spun it's 2700 and launched at 12 degrees so i'd probably crank this a tiny bit higher but i've tested both of these golf clubs in the cover and the normal cover at nine and a half to get the fairest results but i would probably crank this up a little bit maybe it's ten and a half i might do that in a future video try. And mess about the loft a little bit and see if i can get any more difference in carry distance um ball speed was one five nine.
