Hi guys my name is rick shields down here at trafford goal center in manchester. And we've got the new nike vapor drivers finally we have got the new drivers i cannot wait to test them so i've got all three i've got the speed the pro and the flex i'm going to be reviewing them all in separate videos. And talking about the different ones i've just been fitted by one of the nike gurus guy who was fantastic still got his fitting cart here he was really really excellent. And we've got a shaft that suits me actually in all three heads and it's the diamana extra stiff shaft i'll show you that in a moment but this video is all about the speed. So i'm going to put the other two down. For the moment and we're going to talk about the speed driver. But not damage them or hurt them i'll pop them down gently and so the speed driver the nike vapor speed drivers i think it's going to be the one that most golfers use i think it's going to be the number one driver that they sell of all of the three it's designed. For high launch and lots of speed lots of power what they've brought in they've brought in the same technology they've used in the covert drivers so the two red drivers that they've brought out in the past with the cavity in the back they've enhanced that and i think they've made this club look much much better just from the colouring scheme of it as well. So the cavity in the back before used to be really big and chunky it's not as big anymore and it's got two almost kind of support ridges in the back of that as well and that's to make the head more stable um it's got adjustability so it the the same flex loft adjustability from the coverts just come into the vapor range so you can use the shaft that you had in a cover potentially put it into this gives you adjustability. And loft and some sort of direction as well um the vapor speed one is let's say the bigger head of the diversion now they're not really published size the size of these club heads they're big. But i don't think they're quite 460 i think they're pretty big now tiger was gaming this version now this version really is. For the let's say the higher handicapped market but tiger was gaming a version of this apparently a slightly smaller head. And a glued version i mean tiger gets what he wants from nike obviously um. So yeah i mean i think this is going to be the one that like i said most golfers use it's lovely looking at the top. And it's got this vault color so it's like a lime green yellow but apparently like you're calling it volt so it's it's got a really good look to it big vault tick at the back nike tick now the speed face has got a silver finish to the face but kind of a charcoal black design to the top and just a little bit of detailing along the back here almost two arrows right at the back of the head that's pointing forward where that's a little bit of alignment we're not too sure but it looks nice it's a great looking club i said i've got this in the diamana this is the white board extra stiff shaft now the a lot of the shaft options are available uh the diamana one is a um i think it's a free up charge this is what guy was telling me before free up charge on the flex version um. But it's the shaft that suited me in all three driver heads just the one i'm gonna be doing the most of the testing so i have been fitted for these clubs real golf balls down here on gc2 what i'm gonna do i'm gonna hit a couple on video. And i'm gonna hit five in total and give you some data and give you some information about this driver what it's doing what it's performing wise and how it feels so first off i honestly love the look of that club head behind the ball i think it is just it's really good now obviously they had the big red one before. And this just is. So much more subtle in its design right let's smash a few out there oh that felt like a really good first hit it's almost dead straight down the driving range here is it big oh it's a great start actually wow wow what a start. For the nike vapor this is like say the speed version. So it is designed. For power that's a pretty impressive start for the nike vapor speed um looks i just love the look of this driver it's something about that charcoal finish yet the big nike vault swish at the back i'm i'm impressed with that so far it's a good start because if i don't think this is the one that's going to suit me the best out the three i don't believe it is it's definitely a high launching driver. So you mix that in with some good spin numbers and that is a long drive it's not not the greatest goal shot i've ever hit in the world there. But it's still down the middle still decent numbers i say i don't know if this is going to be the one that suits me best out the three i know uh mackerel is using the pro which is the the kind of more advanced version this. And then.
There is a flex a more adjustable version right i'm gonna hit three more now off camera. And join me in a minute we'll see what the five shots have been actually recording on average with the nike vapor speed driver i do like this. So far oh that's nice so all five have been hit i'm gonna now bring up the day i mean is that big yeah it's not bad it's about where i've been hitting the restroom. So we're going to bring up the five data now five shots with all the data digest it see what it's done well see how the nike vapor speed has performed uh. And then.
Like i said we're gonna jump back then.
Onto the pro head. So stay tuned we'll get all the numbers up right so number time we've got uh all of the data here upon screen now all five of them were good strikes they were slightly high off the face. And all in the middle so all strike relations should be very very good club head speed 112 on average that's good for me so it's a lighter head light i think believe it's lighter than the covert. So that's that they're decent numbers for me that's quite a fast club head speed great ball speed 160 smash factors not the greatest on every single one of them but they're pretty much there now this is where this speed driver comes in it is high the five shots i hit there were really high. And i only got this in 10.5 and the launch up there was 17 degrees really high. And that's what this driver is about it's high launch. And power the spin rates i think i can get lower with the new the other drivers. So it's 2 800 a couple in there in the mid 2000 spins and the rest just creeping up into the three thousands it's not the greatest spin numbers in the world and the peak height was 51 yards up in the air. So stay tuned to see the other videos to see what the peak height of the other clubs are i don't think it will be that high average carry distance 270 yards i'm happy with that considering that it went. So high it was an easy club to hit as well. For 289 total distance tiny bit left and right but that's down to me not the club and just feels really good so for me it's a forgiving very forgiving good looking driver that offers height power speed in a forgiving head so these two channels at the back offer that bit of state stability and it just i mean it just looks then.
Oh yeah it looks good like i said i've got this in 10.5 in the diamana stiff shaft i'm going to now jump this shaft into the next.
Head which is nike pro head slightly smaller it's going to i think it's going to produce much better numbers. For me guys to stay tuned see how the nike pro performs i think this is going to be ideal. For a higher handicapper maybe someone who's looking for a driver that's easy to hit and easy to get up in the air in a nike format which just looks amazing guys thank you very much for watching if you've enjoyed the video do give it a thumbs up i cannot wait to try the next.
