Hi guys my name is rick shields down here at traffic gold center in manchester. And today.

I've got my hands on the new nike cover vrs iron this is the 2.0 range. And it's the new design and it's the one that's kind of the more aimed at the high to mid handicap level this one tested last year went very very very long so it's interesting to see how far this will go the design features they seem to have shaved quite a lot off the back it's not as bulky as it was the the old covert was really really bulky certainly at the back they seem to have shaving that off they've given an awesome facelift at the back it really does look something special it's got next.

Core face technology. So thinner face or faster ball speed apparently you know they all say that also the center of gravity has been zipped all the way down to the base of the golf club tell that golf ball stay up in the air for a little bit longer and help you guys hit it further i said this is their forgiving range. So it's an iron that is aimed with plenty of forgiveness in mind. So on off-centered hits it's supposed to twist less and that's why it's got this big toe and heel kind of weight in there a bit like they did with the design of the drivers i've actually got the new covert 2.0 driver 3-wood. And hybrid up to be reviewed next.

So please do check out my channel. For those videos they are coming very soon. But it's the first it's time for the covert 2.0 um i'm going to hit five golf balls on gc2 give it a little bit of a test i'm also going to show you the dispersion. And the distance carry distance of this golf club i'm expecting pretty large numbers with this golf club but hopefully it should keep the dispersion quite tight so we'll give it a go we'll give it a test and we'll give you the figures straight away so we've got club head behind the ball looking really forgiving the top edge has got a little bit of roundness to it so it offers that level of of luxury almost behind the club it makes you feel like you're going to be able to hit the ball consistently every time we've got something new to this golf club this is the new tour wrap grip this has been featured on all of the uh covert stuff. So this is all the covert irons have got white grips. And all the covert tour stuff we've got red tour wrap grips that's one way of being able to uh highlight which of the players i mean they might change the grips out on tour. But you'd like to think they'd be trying to stay with the same color scheme um. But yeah absolute forgiveness i've just got this in the in the standard uh dynalite true temper staff shaft which is the um standard shaft. And the loft of a seven iron i've got the seven iron here the loft of this is 31 degrees. So it is stronger than standard what is standard anymore i don't know because we tried the uh the x hot 2 2 x 2 hot last week. And that was going ridiculously long. But the loft of that was 30. So it's one degree stronger than this so it'd be interesting to see what this bad boy does compared to that now right let's give it a test it does look nice i just don't know if it's going to go quite as far as the old one i said normal 79. For me is about 168. So we'll see how far it's going. For that okay that's given a really nice solid flight to be fair that seems to have flied over the bank that i'd normally hit over yeah 173 carry distance on that. And it was really straight it was only 0.4 off 0.4 yards off being dead straight. So that offered really good flight good kind of characteristics to it aiming like say that high to to mid handicap level and it launches quite low but it stays up in the air forever didn't seem quite as far no 173 again exactly the same yardage. And only 1.3 yards offline it's launching out there about 70 so it's got a low launch but then.

It's getting right up in the air it really is going an awful long way after that i tell you what this club is forgiving this is right at the top of the forgiveness chart i didn't feel like it like that great then.

177. it might go a bit further left oh yeah 0.6 yards left 0.6 not 6 yards 0.6. So it is a pretty straight. And forgiving golf club a little tiny bit out the heel so we'll see how far that one's still traveled it seems like it's still going a long way still one six nine it's not too bad interestingly the ball speed is quick the ball speed is quicker than what i would normally hit i said i've got the ping s56 at the moment as you know. And my normal ball speed for 79 is about 121. this has given me an average of one two five at the moment. And let's say stay tuned to end the video because i'm going to put all this information up there on screen oh that honestly that is really really nice. And it gives some nice feedback 173 and only two yards on offline i tell you what this is a forgiving golf club it really is forgiving. So i'm going to throw the data up on screen. For you there now for the nike cover vrs 2.0 iron and we'll have a look at some of the data so if we look across the columns here we've got ball speed on the left side and that's averaging at one two six that's fast to the next.

Core face the thin face is producing faster ball speed there's no question about that launch angle is very low again you don't need to know all this information we're going to throw it all out there to you anyway. So normal tour average for a 79 is about 17. So that's pretty good um this is the interesting one the peak height was 37 yards up in the air that is up there you know that is high. So it's launching low but then.

Going high. So it would drop quick and land softly and it'll stay in the air nicely as well carry distance was an average of one seven three. And what's really important there is that my shortest one was only four yards less than average. And my longest one was only four yards longer than average. So it's got a good dispersion this is where it's really interesting right to left dispersion my furthest left shot went 0.6 yards left my furthest right shot did go 9.4 yards to the right. But not much you know that would still be hitting the green really nicely so the dispersion on this golf club is pretty awesome guys that is the knight covert vrs 2.0 iron that is good you know that if i if someone said to me right rick you've got to go. And play on tour next.

Week first off apart from panicking and bricking myself i would get these in the bag these are a club that's going to offer. So much forgiveness when i'm out playing is it a club that i would use i'm not sure you know as a better player. So to speak do i want. So much cavity behind the ball probably not as much as this but for a golfer who's after a club that offers the most forgiveness i mean this is this is forgiving. And it's long and it's easy to hit and it looks quite nice and it's from nike this could be it you know this could be really one that you should be testing i'm also guys gonna test this up against the speed blade so the tailor made speed blade i think it might lose in distance because the speed blade was massive i'm definitely not going to test it up against the x2 hot because it would lose against the x2 hot if you've not checked my video out. For that please do check out my channel you can see that. But i think that would get rinse only because it's a degree stronger. But guys that was my review today.

Of the nike 2.0 covert do check out my channel. For the hybrid the three and the driver reviews and hopefully that's giving you a bit of information to see if you want to test this bad boy but it's long it's long and straight nice i like it nice you.
