Hi guys my name is rick shields down here at trafford gold central manchester we've got a battle today.
We've got a battle against the taylormade speed blades against the new knight covert 2.0 iron both exactly aimed at the same market. So i'm kind of the mid to high handicapper and both offering huge amounts of power and distance so i'm going to put these two head to head there was another contender in this the callaway x2 hot. But if you check my other review of that i do think that would blow these two out the water. So what i might do is see which one of these two wins first. And then.
Test it up against the callaway 2x too hot so what we've got in here we've got the both designs are kind of around the same thing both central gravities have been pulled right down to the bottom. And they're offering massive amounts of goodness because on toe and heeled strikes there's lots of padding lots of energy there the only difference with the speed blades it's got this speed pocket so you should see my speed blade review i've done that in the past that if hit off the toe or the center apparently this speed blade pocket thingy supposed to make the ball squish or make the face squish and make the ball trampoline and go further with the actual night cover the only difference you've got is that it's got a next.
Core face quite a thin faced uh iron. So the ball should again go quite a bit further i've got two seven irons but the only difference between between these two seven irons you've got 31 degrees of loft and you've got 30.5 degrees of loft so there's a little bit in difference in the loft between these two but only half a degree whether that makes much of a difference we're not too sure if we look at the length they're identical perfectly the same length so there should be no difference in that i've got them in similaris staff to each shaft to each other both the standard steel stiff shaft. So these are the ones that you get straight off the shelf. And i'm going to hit three golf shots with each real golf balls on gc2 technology the only rule today.
Is that they've both they've got to be under 10 yard dispersion right. Or left to count as a shot so i'm going to make it as if i'm not just going to smash this as hard as i can. And go 30 yards offline they have to be within a 10 yard tolerance right or left for it to count we're gonna go speed blade first we're gonna go taylormade speed blade oh it's a great start from the speed blade that was a really solid hit it's 5.3 yards left. So it's in our target and it was 181 yards. So pretty good solid hit for the speed blade to start off with now when i tested the covert before this was long. And straight not as long as i thought it was going to be. But it was a very very straight shot. And so easy to hit so it's got 181 yards to beat and i say it's got to stay within 10 yards radius oh it's way inside the 10 yards that's dead straight down the target line so it's 5.8 yards to the left 181 yards exactly the same this just went 0.5 of a yard further to the left there's not much difference yet let's see if let's see if either of them don't stay within that 10 yards or if we can get some real monsters i might try the last one a bit more of a smash. But we'll go second shot this is back to the speed blade that is good that is straight oh you're having a laugh 5.6 yards to the left 181 yards. So hit three shots now exactly 181 yards in carry distance right culvert again keeps putting the pressure on this cover iron that is definitely dead straight again perfectly down the target line it's gone five point. Or six point four yards to the left oh we've got a difference in yardage 183 for the night covert so it's just two yards advantage at the moment we'll go back to the speed blade we've got one more shot each i'm gonna give this more of a hit so i've got two shots there that are up against each other they were quite comfortable hitting golf shots. But if i really want to hit this one i'm going to try. And hit this one hard but still try and keep it within that 10 yard radius that i'm aiming for well that is straight that's probably the straightest one i've hit out of all of them it was only 1.3 yards offline. So dead straight 184 yards we've got a new longest club at the moment we've got one more with the night cover oh that was well hit come on get up could it be the same distance. So it's gone 8.9 yards to the right so only just in our kind of ten um yard dispersion but it's actually only gone one seven six and not quite as far as the speed blade so guys that they're it big very very close matchup between those two so we've got the tailor-made speed blade actually hitting the longest shot let me get the data up on screen for you as well guys so you can see all that. And we've got the taylormade hitting the longest shot 184 yards the good thing was they were all inside our 10-yard dispersion. So nothing went left and right too fast it'd all be hitting the green and it's interesting how very accurate and closely matched these two clubs are it's a shame that last nike one wasn't quite hit as good. But hey that's part of the game and i must admit these two golf clubs are almost identical in data in performance. And to the market that these two kind of guys are aiming. For so speed blade is going to go through to next.
Round. And it's going to challenge against the callaway x2 hot the x2 hot is hot it was going an awful long way last time this is going to be interesting guys i'm going to get all that data up on screen. For you as well as you can see all that. But that was my head to head against the nike vrs 2.0. And the taylormade speed blades thanks so much for watching you can check me out on facebook.
