Hi guys my name is Rick shields down here at truffle girl central Manchester. And today.
I'm testing the new Nike VRS covert forged iron. And I was just waiting. For that ball to land because it went 174 yards with the 7-iron and felt pretty awesome what they've got in this Golf Club at the moment they've got lots of low center of gravity so it's supposed to launch the ball nice and high but it's quite a low launch Oh quite a little loft sorry so 31 degree loft on the 7-9 is quite low it's got an awesome looking head you know it's got the same kind of design as the VRS covert 2.0 new iron. But it's a bit sleeker so it nice it was a bit tidier it's aimed kind of to the mid to lower handicap range who are trying to get our ultimate forgiveness. And with a forged head it's offering loads of feel so when you hit the ball it feels pretty awesome we've got the new tore up grip this is the red tore up grit quite tacky grit still not test it in wet conditions. Yet so it'd be interesting to see how that kind of compares in wet conditions I've got this in the stiff steel flex NS Pro shaft so it's as gold as the Golf Club comes it's almost ready to respect and ready to hit for me I don't really get I'm quite average with mass spec on irons I'm normally normal length stiff shaft so good to compare figures I mean real golf balls on GC - I'm going to present the numbers at the end. For you to see what the average carry distance is golf club here. So not about start 174 with the seven I know my hit my 7.16 eight a little bit more to the left that time 184 what felt pretty awesome yeah sixteen yards left not not my best. But 484 yards that's not gonna be a million miles away so 178 yards of carry distance and what I like about the fly even though it comes out relatively low because it aloft it seems to get off in the air quite quickly but not spinning stupid amount so it seems to be spinning quite a nice figure about the count of five and five and a half thousand mark so when it lands it's going to stop pretty quickly that was only two yards off target line that time then.
We look down at the golf club it's got quite a nice square top line to it. So it looked it looks quite powerful it looks like it it's getting ready to hit real it looks really kind of quite a mean Club it looks generous generous. Yet mean that's a little bit from the toe adductor a little bit telly that sounds I'm interested see how far it goes 175. So I've lost a tiny bit yardage on it that time but still not a million miles away we'll hit one more again it's giving some good day too fast ball speed it's got this next.
Claw face so let's say Nike is saying this is a really fast face which I'm sure they would do. But it's 125 miles per hour average at the moment oh yeah feels awesome. And it does give a really solid sound to it yeah it feels. So soft off the face you can really feel the club come into the golf ball almost compress it slightly 183 yards of carry distance that time did go a little bit further that one that might have been the reason why I hit that why I felt it a bit nicer. So if I throw all that data up on screen fee now so you can see it if you've never seen the GC two days - before we've got on the left side the ball speed. So got the average ball speed they're being 125 miles per hour I normally average about one to two to one to four so that's quite a fast ball speed so Nike is saying with this next.
Claw face that supposed to offer faster ball speed it seems like it is doing decent launch angle 18 point - that's about right I'd normally launch a 7-iron about kind of 17 to 18 degrees that's pretty much spot-on spin rates. So side angle spin rate we don't really need to know that too much backspin 5600 so it's got a nice amount of backspin that's not let me spin up in there and losing distance too much yeah it's going to stop very quickly onto a green as well we've got the peak height at 36 yards up in the air the average yardage up in the air there it's pretty high. So when it lands it is going to stop pretty quickly you can see the descent angle there 132 degrees on the way down. So it's going to stop pretty quick we've got the average carry distance at being 179 yards it's not bad it's a good 10 to 11 yards further than what I would normally hit a 7-iron. So I've tested other clubs in the past you might see my color X X hot review that was a pretty long Golf Club this is almost in the same kind of market that really we look at the dispersion of hit two off line 114 116 degrees off line you know it might be my fault a little bit. But either way it's still a long long golf club and what I like about it is that with its looks. And its high level of forgiveness and good ball flight it's really kind of aimed up like say mid to lower handicap who wants to really kind of see a big forgive big big forgiveness level and really see a reduction in golf scores this year so guys that was my review of the Nike VRS covert forged iron it's a golf club that offers loads of power lots of feel. And it's it looks pretty awesome as well you can check out my next.
