Hi guys my name is rick shields down here at trafford golf center in manchester. And today.
I'm going to be hitting the ping i-25 fairway wood this is the fairway wood of the driver that currently i love. So i'm really excited to hit this. For the driver it's been for me it's been hitting it longer than most of the drivers that i've tested so it'd be interesting to see how the fairway wood kind of keeps up with that whether it's distance wise it's keeping up with it we're going to see how forgiving it is we're going to hit some off the t to make some fair strikes. And get on gc2 for distance and we're also going to hit some off the floor to see how forgiving it is off the floor as well technology wise what we've got in this head is that we've got the adjustability of the neck exactly the same as the driver. But interestingly i mean same with the driver you can only move it half a degree the way you kind of don't see the point in that too much it's just 15 would we need to move it 14.5. Or do we need to move it 15.5 i don't think. So so i don't know if ping here are just kind of throwing this in because everyone else is doing it. And they might be missing out on the market but i don't think they need to do it. But it's there as an option anyway like i said i've got this in 3-wood this is 15 degrees i've got it in the standard ping um shafts this is the 65 gram stiff flex just a ping stock shaft. And we've got racing stripes on the top so i love the design of this on the on the head of the driver it helps us line up really nicely interesting they've got it on the drive of the three wood but not the hybrid you'd have thought they would have kept the trend on but still on the three wood so i'm happy about that as long as i don't break it we are going to keep that in. So right three wood off the deck let's give it a go so let's get our target line i've just tested the two taylormade three woods so you can check them out in the window just here because like i said be interesting to see how far this goes compared to those compared to those ones as well oh that felt nice it has gone a little bit too far left i'll be honest with you. But that felt really good 253 yards of carry distance 24 yards left but that's you know that's not too bad that would probably still just about sneak on a fairway i mean. For a 250 yard shot 20 yards offline would be about acceptable it's only 10 offline okay that felt awesome oh that could have felt even better i don't know if that's just stayed up in the air. For a little bit too long yeah two four six. So it's just stayed up in the air a little bit too long it spun a bit more 3600 so i might not have caught that quite as well as i could have done it still felt pretty awesome love the racing stripes it's a really small head behind the ball i mean i've got the eye well i've what if i got now i've got the i-15 3-wood currently. So i'm a couple of generations behind this but the actual club head design looks very similar apart from the racing stripes but they've definitely put pumped this full of rocket fuel when i've been hitting it yeah really nice again interestingly not as far two three five. So not possibly i didn't hit that as good as i could have done really it's definitely spinning higher than the two taylor made three woods which is very very very interested let's go one more off the deck. And stay off the deck i meant after t obviously so that means that's hit well again two three five what's happened where's the where's the power going i'm really shocked about that like i hit that first one pretty decent. And it seems to just not been quite the same distances consistent as i expect there that's going off the deck. So we're currently averaging at 242. we're about i think we're about six yards behind the sldr. And about four yards behind the jet speed it's got one off the deck now that was nice i don't think still that's gone as far oh not bad two four three. So it's not a bad hit what i do like about this club is that how shallow it is off the face you know it is super shallow the first couple to me almost tricked me that i was gonna hit this much further. But if we have a look at the averages i'm gonna throw them up on screen for for you now if we go along the columns we've got the first column which is the ball speed interesting that's slightly slower than the two taylormade three woods if you've not seen those reviews do check out my channel. So you can see those it's a little bit slower than on the ball speed the one that's really interesting. And it's spun up more way more 3400 nearly 500 revs per minute more backspin that's definitely why it's staying up in the air for a little bit longer and for me not traveling quite as far as it could do it's average carry distance it's still an impressive 2-4-2. So that's not a bad hit for a 3-wood but for me that's still not gone as far as i would have expected it to after trial and the other couple of three was i've just tried as well like i said the two tailor-made ones. So guys i don't think the ping i-15 fairway wood quite matches up to the driver in distance. But what it doesn't offer in distance it certainly offers in forgiveness in looks in ease of hit and a little bit of adjustability thrown in there as well guys if you've enjoyed the video please do subscribe to my channel you can do that just by clicking the link here you can check out my next.
Three wood review which is the big bertha i've got the callaway big bertha 3-wood ready. And raring to go for a review so you can check that out by clicking the link just here also do give it a thumbs up if you enjoyed the video comment in the description below. And do still give this little bad boy a trial if you're in the market. For a forgiving easy to hit three wood that offers lots of flexibility off the tee and off the deck guys thanks so much for watching my name's been rick shields down here at trafford golf center in manchester you.
