Hi guys my name is rick shields down here at traffic central manchester. And today.
We've got a match up between the two longest drivers that i've i've hit. So far in the gc2 we've got the big bertha alpha the callaway big bertha alpha versus the ping i25 driver so these two golf clubs i was surprised to hit as far as i did on the gc2 um. And we're going to put them head to head against each other today.
I'm hitting three real golf shots each alternately. So that we're not biased to either one i've got them in exactly the same setting now so with the i-25 you can change this is it comes in nine. And a half it comes with a loft but nine and a half and you can change it by only half a degree either way. So i've changed that to now 10 degree loft now the callaway alpha you can change it one degree down. Or two degrees up and i've changed that now to one degree up from its nine degree and normal loft so they're both in 10 degrees of loft so as similar as we can they're both actually in the stock stiff shaft. So we've got the callaway we've got the fubuka fabuka 60 gram stiff flex and in the uh ping we've got the pwr 65 gram so not much difference in the weight as well um if you've not seen my reviews of these two already go and check out my channel for that we've got the callaway review just here and the i-25 review just here you can click on the links there it'll open a new window you can save. Watch this first to see which of these two is gonna be the longest. So i'm gonna go ping guy 25 first we're gonna hit like i said real golf shots. So we've got the the go faster stripes on this bad boy and we're going to use the average of the three. But what we're also going to identify is the difference between the longest shot as well. So we're gonna use the average of the three but we're gonna also see which one's going longest. So has the most bragging rights so let's give this a bit of a hit it's not a bad start i wouldn't say for the uh ping i-25 278 carry distance there's a pretty decent solid golf shot for the i-25 so a very very good start let's go for the callaway big bertha alpha so interesting not the big berth i didn't get on with that as much as i did with the alpha. So the alpha's the one that i like the hit in the best we've got the cavity core which is the bit at the bottom which is makes this golf club. So unique got the cavity core right down to the bottom is the way i hit the golf club best in this golf club as well it's gonna be a close match up i would say 272. So not quite as long as i hit the i-25 so currently the i-25 is leading by quite a big chunk there let's go back to i-25 again hit on quite nicely as well to be fair well that could be big that could be a biggie no interesting not quite as well 276 carry distance there. So pretty decent hit and so we've got callaway alpha backup see how this performs on its second shot that's pretty decent but if it's gone quite as far away as 280 it's a pretty decent carry distance so far longest we've had so far out the two like i said when i've normally tested club i normally carry the ball about two weeks 268 270. So 280 cameras pretty nice certainly on the gc2 which is very closed data right one shot each i bet the averages are pretty close now it's got to be down there it's got to be oh thing i 25 290 carry distance i have that big bertha says the ping. So pretty pretty decent right the big bertha has got to do something pretty special on this last one to catch up with that the pings just got longer. And longer each time right so this needs a biggie 290s the biggest so far oh it's decent that felt pretty much out the screws there oh 284 so it's the longest shot for the callaway but the ping i25 has just clinched it if we actually have a look at the averages there as well i'll throw those up on screen so the the ping i-25 has definitely hit the longest carry distance there with 290 yards of carry distance it's a pretty solid golf shot there but the callaway alpha wasn't that far behind so if we have a look at some of the data up on screen and i'll highlight the uh i-25 first the i-25 had an average carry distance of 281 yards which is pretty decent with the best carry distance at 290. So a very very solid golf shot very solid distances oh the callaway big bertha alpha had a an average carry distance of two seven nine so a very close match up there's only two yards in it which is what i got exactly almost got exactly the same kind of readings when i was testing it in the review as well. So very accurate with the with the data but it had the it had the the best carry distance of 284 yards so not far away at all so guys that was my longest drive competition between the callaway big bertha alpha. And the ping i25 in exactly the same lofts in almost identical settings and the i-25 has just picked it maybe those go faster stripes are doing something that more than what we were aware of.
