So normally as golfers we play with 14 clubs in our bags that's what we're allowed to play with and you might have seen recently i've been doing some challenges one with john robbins and one with tommy fleetwood where i just played with one and it got me thinking that was tough playing with one club. So got me thinking what happens when you double the amount of clubs in your bag and go and try and play golf well check this out i've filled my old tour bag which i'm definitely going to tell you about his tour bags he's got some stories i filled my own tour bag with um a lot of golf clubs now i started with the idea of doubling my golf clubs that would be 28. But i couldn't stop i've ended up putting 33 golf clubs in the bag and i'm going to play nine holes here at the marriott worthy park i'm gonna carry the bag as well we'll see how that gets on. And i normally would like to try and play about level park that's ridiculously heavy around about level power for nine holes let's see if we double the amount of clubs does that equal a lower score let's get to that first tee. And find out right change of plan i've literally walked from the car park and i'm not carrying that that is ridiculous i'm gonna put it on a trolley oh do my back in doing that all right before teen off let me do a little what's in the bag i'll try. And go through this quick i'll take off the trolley to go through right so my pretty much my set is in here by the wedges which i'll come on to. So i've got my normal cobra driver i've then.
Got a taylormade sim driver cranked down to seven degrees for ultra distance ultra distance then.
I've got the mizuno x driver which is the forgiving driver. So my three driver choices i've then.
Gone why not mini driver i've then.
Gone two three woods my standard old bluey f7 and i've gone for a rocket three wood 14 degree strong lofted so that's my woods i don't particularly like hybrid so i'm not gonna do hybrid. So i've gone one iron classic why would you not two iron three iron then.
I've got a blend of two sets of clubs in my bag from four to nine iron my own set which is the ping blueprint. And i've put in a set of these the mizuno mmc mp20s because the specs means that every club is two degrees difference. So i've got two degrees so basically for me i've got like a four iron and a four and a half iron a five iron then.
A five and a half iron so forth and so on that's interesting right i shouldn't get in between clubs and then.
Finally i've got an array of wedges and i've done something quite interesting that's a 52 degree which i've bent to 50 50 50 degree 52 degree i've bent that one to 54 that one's 56 i bent that to 58 that's 16 i've bent that to 62. i've also got 65 degree wedge in there i've got a little chipper because why would you not have a chipper in there i've got my putter the even roll which i'm normally used to and then.
A kind of the what's it called odyssey 10 triple track track putter for more accuracy and then.
To finish it off i've even got an old ping rapture in left-handed for those situations where if i get stuck behind the tree i've always wanted a left-handed club in my bag so that's the setup 33 clubs let's play some golf nine holes and see if i can uh shoot better than what i normally do. And i'm going to kick things off with the first tee opener with the forgiving mizuno driver because that's exactly what you want on a first d shot okay opening shot the forgiving driver [Music] it's not my best start. But it's down there and we're in play it went a little bit less but that's not a bad miss on this first hole so we found my ball it's not in the fairway it's actually in the rough and a bit further out than i wanted to be i'm 175 yards away from the flag which for me is a normal seven it's a bit cold. And i want to go a little bit further but six irons for me would go too far so advantage i've got the strongest seven iron let me explain i've got two of every iron in my bag my own set seven iron and that's 34 degrees of loft and a stronger iron this is roughly two degrees stronger this is 32 degrees. So i should hit this about six yards further my own club so for this shot in particular with it being a bit cold a bit wet this should be absolutely perfect [Music] i'll be the right club okay maybe i needed a six iron. But we're on the green and we're putting you know what i'd expect the outcome of this little test in theory i should shoot a better score because i've got 33 clubs in my bag instead of 14. i've got almost all my distances correct now i shouldn't be ever in between clubs however. distance is only one factor if i hit it offline then.
I'm going to miss the green either way. But i've got more wedges to hopefully be able to get up and down with i've got a birdie chance on the first i'm quite a long way let's try this let i'm going to be brave i reckon i could shoot under par with this many clothes in my bag uh yeah that's pretty fair. So i'm quite far away actually looking at it that's the thing as much as it might be able to get these distances better you still gotta hit the shot for a longer pull i'm gonna go for this mallet putter [Music] testing one for par okay sticking with the triple trap putter. For par on the first [Music] okay it's a decent start it's the second hole this is going to be interesting because it's a 300 yard path four now normally in these wet conditions i don't think i could get there with my regulation driver. So it's a good job i brought this the sim driver normally nine degrees but i've cranked it as low as it can to seven degrees i'm gonna t up high. And let it fly i've got to absolutely smash on for a chance of getting on this green so i've got to be honest that didn't work seven degrees and a super low spin shaft means it just kind of nose dive [Music] [Music] okay i'll be honest with all the wedges i've got in my bag that wedge shot was very disappointing i almost felt like i had too many options of wedges i picked the wrong one didn't hit it great level par though onto the next.
Hole okay my current driver [Music] okay um we've hit another green in regulation which is a plus. But we're not as close to the flag as i want to be if i'm honest um i feel like there's a blend of trying to get used to what club i should be hitting but we've got outside birdie chance i'm gonna stick with the uh odyssey 10 again now i said early on that there was a bit of a story around this golf bag that i'm using i'm gonna give you a little uh a little teaser can anybody tell me why that's on my golf bag number 31 is very much stuck on now i'll play a little bit more in a bit we're on the third hole par three down the hill i think this is one way i get very much in between clubs i'll have a quick look. But i think this is where i'm going to benefit from all these extra clubs [Music] that looks nice that looks nice i hate to say this i hate to say this i possibly needed half a club more there's too many choices with this set anyway we're putting. For birdie right here we are birdie opportunity i've decided to go. For the other putter in my bag which is my own putter now i've got to be honest probably in the putter department there's no massive benefit of having more than one if you like one stick with it. But for this experiment for this video i thought i'd put two in i'm swapping i've got to be honest for no massive reason by the fact this is my own putter. And so far i've hold nothing substantial with my other putter but be honest it has had some long puts it's more just for a different mindset right straight put up the hill [Music] i maybe i should go back to the other putter three part of four par so far but now we've got two back to back par fives coming up so going back to the story of the golf bag that's the first part three i've played after a very magical moment that happened the last time this golf bag was out. And about if you've been a long time viewer you'll know exactly what i'm talking about but i'll dig a bit deeper in the back because there's a few more clues in a bit right two part fives i think i'm gonna get the i think we're gonna go with a seven degree driver again [Music] second shots three iron [Music] be good. So i'm at the front of the green and if you're a long time viewer you might know tipping's not my strength so i thought well i've got this challenge i'm going to take the opportunity to put this in a little chipper i did a review on this. And actually quite liked it but normally i wouldn't have it in my bag but a shot like this front of the green on a par five should be perfect use it like a putter [Music] oh that would have been a cheeky eagle um maybe i should put that in the bag right i've got that for birdie i'm gonna go back to my normal putter so now i've made birdie and i'm one on the par you know what i think it's time to take this a little bit more seriously i'm gonna play proper golf no more talking. For a bit let's see how low i can actually go [Music]. So [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay through eight holes it comes as a surprise to me as it probably does to you i'm too under par. And i felt like i've been more confident having that many clubs in my bag it's given me a lot more options sometimes give me too much choice granted where i've been less decisive because it's giving me a few more selections but in fairness i've done all right two on the par for a little fun challenge final hole can i stay on the par. And can i go even lower now talked about to start the video this bag let me just talk about this very quickly because. For you long time viewers last time i wore this bag called use this bag was open qualifying 2017 where on the second to last hole the 17th at west lance actually got a hole in one i've not got the hole in one ball in here. But i've got all of the west lance open qualifying pin positions 26th of june 2017 was when last time literally the last time i ever used this bag. And got a holding one i said i would never get it out retirement even it's even got the old logo on look at that battered. And bruised is this old bag carrying all these clubs right last hole let's see if we can make a birdie. And get to three under through nine i'm gonna go my normal eight iron which is the weaker eight iron [Music] oh direction now granted there's a lot of clubs in this bag i didn't get opportunity to use just because of one reason. Or another but there's one i put in the bag that i thought when you need it you desperately need it and it's uh it's when let me get a ball first it's when you get in this situation when your golf ball i thought that might have been a ball from open qualifying with my daughter's name but anyway when you get a golf ball and you are stuck the wrong side of a tree there's a right in the golf you can't play it you gotta play the left-handed one i think just. For fun let's see if i can uh be like here let's see if it's worth having a left-handed club in the bag i mean this is a ridiculous shot i've got trees. And everything this is seven iron it's my left-handed swing everybody let's see how uh let's see if we can make it work come on be classified get this on the green zoom in on that green you know what it might be worth taking the club out. And putting a left-handed one in for those situations cannot believe i nearly got it on the green from there there you go maybe i played the wrong way all this time just out of interest what would have happened if i'd have actually played it all left-handed a little chip and run with the seven [Music] that's alarmingly better contact than what i'd normally get right handed so the last little chip from the side of the green here on 9. it's quite worrying when i've got 33 clubs to choose from in that bag and the one that i've gravitated towards is this the little chipper again maybe says a little bit more about my short game than most right let's see if we can finish off in style just a little bit off that left hand side i don't need my glove on. For this use it like a putter come on not the best effort got out for par okay this last port is.
