Now you would have seen from my last video i reviewed this set that i bought from aldi for under 200 pound now here is my set that is much more than 200 pound today.
I'm gonna play nine holes where i play with my clubs against a tour pro using these clubs. And not just any tour pro this top row james robinson you up for the challenge yep let's do it you might see james from loads of videos we've done in the past it was a hell of a player now this was his reaction when i first showed him this package set of clubs. So james these are your weapons of choice. Or not bad choice what do you think pretty nice i'm liking this that's the first thing you notice i don't think i've ever had one of those before. So pretty looking forward to using that let me talk you through it i bought from aldi yeah the supermarket i love haldi ben sayers yeah eight clubs driver three wood hybrid six eight pitching wedge sandwich putter. And not only have you noticed the towel towel and the groove cleaner you also got with it 12 premium nike lake balls oh nice which is also what you've got to use oh amazing what a present you're welcome thank you i'll tell you what i like this putter it's like the old nick faldo type of putter isn't it he made that famous looking forward to it we've got titanium. Or some sort of metal some sort of metal metal driver notice the paint work on the top it's uh oh dear shoddy i don't think they uh have inspection of quality don't they i want to show you two more things grip i think on the six iron yep have a quick glance at that see if that's to your liking i think the head's loose isn't it. And then.
Last thing lions fade lie angle of that three wood let me take those premiums off yeah thank you 12. that is um pretty flat doesn't say the least feel. For the challenge yep nine holes do it you versus me metal three wood as well there you go that's all you need look loving it mate mate the older eight good in the bmw range full set including the balls 197 quid wow bargain did you keep your receipt there you go james there's the clubs we're gonna play the bat nine here at the marriott yeah i've got a slight advantage my home course uh however. i'm not playing the open like you. So i think there's there's a bit of two. And three and i think it's gonna be a fair match um this is gonna be interesting because you with this set you get 12 premium remember that name pretty remember that word light balls they're all nikes uh you're gonna pick one from this bunch let's do it there's a proper mixture it's light oh velocity it's high velocity don't leave that out titanium emojo a woman's ball oh that's nice i like purple ndx turbo sft2 which one you're going to go with i really don't know if what what's good in this this punch there's a vapor black 2.0 that sounds i mean it sounds good there's a there's a crush crush that might be. For the the last few holes um just going. For the nail test to be honest i think i'll go. For i'm gonna go for the vapor black 2.0 and that's a wise choice number one now i'm using a premium brand new titleist pro v1 i think it's better than nike i'm jealous even with these worst quality golf clubs. And balls i don't know he's been playing but going off previous record it should be close i've almost got the pressure on me like you've got nothing games right we play match play yep nine holes good luck good luck thank you play well buddy not too well enjoy it. But well let's enjoy it ten toe power four little little fady one would start us off and it should just be a flick into the green hopefully oh it's not faded fine stay short oh my just popped in the little fairway bunker maybe maybe a little bit of toe in on that compared to my tight list looking it's looking like it could go left i have to hold that face open good for a slicer though look at that swing though surely that can make this golf club sing what is it doesn't even say flex on it tuned micro tuned i think it says that's what you need to know it's tuned hopefully it's tuned to go straight [Laughter] that is. So rubbery yes we might have a chance everybody wow i mean i shouldn't celebrate the smaller wind scene i've got set that's probably ten times more expensive. But we'll take it that's a shaft you can't go hard at it today.
Well first swing of the day felt the uh felt the shaft a bit whippy on the way down. And plus three weeks paternity yeah they say violin someone's just had a baby someone's getting no sleep yeah lack of sleep i'm putting that down. So it's exactly what i've invited you today.
Right a long way right 250. 253. it's not i thought i'd be uh firing into the first hole. But we'll see how we get on we've got three wood uber flat let's go for it yeah. So the lie angle on this three wood is really really flat. So really it should kind of stop it from going left. But who knows get your hands a little bit lower oh that's fantastic i think you've hit the green i don't think. So that did not feel great that was not bad though that was a pretty good golf shot it's up by the green okay i snuck in this bunker which actually bunker i don't think i've ever been in all the times i've played here um i'm 160 yards away from the flag i'm just gonna try. And flick a nato in there just nip it off the top hopefully oh not bad it wasn't what i meant to do okay third shot 80 yards just got a flight over that little ridge with a bit of spin a little bit of spin this premium pro v1 should help me with that i'll definitely get some spin now get on that nice tier pin high just pulled it. For action yeah put him. For par party on so i've got about 35 yard chip and rum just gonna use this tasty little pitching wedge see how it gets on hopefully it releases with this marble golf ball ah i sniffed it that'll do take it away take it away take it away good par thank you thank you never in doubt the best thing to do is just stiff it. So you'd have to use the putter well actually you making power on that hole was never in doubt never in doubt right i've got this. For the half [Music] good effort mate rick shields goes one down james robinson one up pass through up the hill 11th hole 197 yards to the flag are you rocking the hybrid i don't even know what left it is i'll say it does on the head cover why would it not on the head cover oh yeah 23 degrees doesn't mention it on the head 23 degrees yeah. So as long as it's got the right head cover oh yeah i might start switching your head covers around right one up after the first oh i feel a bit wounded probably deserved lucky chip very nice very nice chip all right a little hybrid center of the green let's go. For it do you like where the alignment is on that head it is um it's a long way away from the club face yeah it's a long way away it's like like you said before slightly slapped hit in the middle of the head right right in the middle of the crown yeah rather than it feels whippy let's give it a go that's got snow on it oh my god it's got some serious loft i shouldn't be laughing because currently i'm one down to this man. So so far james you might have had a european tour card and played in the open i must admit i think i used those clubs better than you you have. So far i know it's not not difficult to beat this at the minute looks like a pile he says he says right five iron oh rick big draw way left way way left taking it easy on me i feel like i need those clubs back let's swap again let's lay up james thanks mate get myself a full sandwich to be honest though i think i'm as far left. And wide as you might be sure so we've probably got about the same distance it's not far off we're gonna go with sand wedge i've got sam wedge no idea what loft it is looks about 56 though okay oh you won't be far off yeah it'll do the job okay back to the tee shot go needs to go are you getting closer pal we are closer on the green okay come on rick opportunity here nice little shot over the bunker oh wow what a shot hitting the green i'm happy with it don't mind sniffing it. So james for par it's a long part first time using this putter i'm more worried about the ball good roll oh it was bang on line that's good take it away thanks right come on to win the hole to get it back to all square now really i should have all the faith in the world premium ball premium putter [Applause] great port back to all square evens it up let's go. So again surely i've got a big advantage here because i hit that driver previously on this hole but unless you're superman i don't think you're getting close to the green no well i feel like with this driver i've got half a chance i wouldn't mind uh i don't mind hitting that on this one mine yeah however. i still gotta step up there. And hit hit a good one let me go straight for it not a bad hit straight at it good effort that's where they got shorter than the driver seriously what's just going on with that i thought i was going to go well further i mustn't hit it as good as i thought i'll swap you you can have a little girl no all right it's all right i made up with that james i'll be honest with you it leaves me a full shot in. So i'm quite happy but i honestly thought i'd gone way further don't knock it past me he slightly fatted it oh he has oh we are kicked back oh god that's annoying i know of the walk down here i would have got over the fact that james had just knocked it past me. But i've really not it's really hurt me that but so be it um 60 yards let's try and flick in a little a little 60 and again you think like confidence i'm using premium wedge of okay all the engineering all the design work that's got into this the price alone it's half a set of one of those really come on set a good shot spin hard lovely shot oh backspin. And everything bit of dancing on the green all right got that to beat pack good shot that's to be fair i don't think i'll get as much spin as you no one gives you that graphical aerial bit higher oh it looks good oh it looks ridiculously good it looks ridiculously good [Laughter] you're an absolute joke well done mate well done okay come on a little bit off the right put the pressure on him oh it's a good pull pick it up damn to win the hole come on let's go back to one up oh no no oops that was not good all square 13th hole par-5 back into wind you'd think distance would be an advantage i don't know i have that advantage on you james. But after the last though i think i don't. So come on let's find a fairway into the wind stuffy shot oh big slicer okay that's in your world over there remember you eat it over there in that package that challenge get that hybrid on it that was a bit weak most of these into the breezy you with me makes filming easier pal i'll take that you like it over there we're down basically we've hit it down like the side between the 13th. And the 18th right i've got good news and bad news the good news for me this time i actually drove it past james i did by about eight yards the bad news this is where my balls finished like right next.

Yet james is just behind you in an open a nice little draw back into play of course you will got all the options in the world we're going to hit um six iron like a low drawing six iron it's not too low though oh oh oh oh oh that's perfect that's fine doesn't it yeah right in the middle of the fairway enjoy james you can now use your towel. And groove cleaner i can't wait to use this look at that oh yes look at that it's right in there if you've had that when you're on tour james i was just thinking of the spinner what i got you're living multiple major winner by now i'm 230 yards away no i'm not that's a lie i'm 290 yards away obviously not been able to go. For it slightly worried that i'm gonna probably break my golf club on the way through i need to hit like a hit and stop as quick as i can. And then.
Go pitching wedge if that's going to be a slightly more you're nine iron grip down whack. And stop just be careful don't break your premium shaft yeah it could be a bit more pricey demand i mean can i just about get away with i feel like i'm gonna shank it if i did that oh my goodness it's a little pigeon thrill one time desperately to be left-handed how the hell would he get back in place that's a great shot it's not far off my ball up middle of the fairway yeah that's as good as i could have done it really is can i borrow your groove cleaner yeah cool there you go have a little go on my side oh i don't know scratch your gloves oh look at that oh. So i've got one two six into quite a bit of wind so it's gonna get a little chippy time i don't think wedge will get there dead straight that's it literally gonna break the flag a tiny bit right actually yeah a little bit long not bad okay. For birdie just off the green i'm gonna put it get up oh deep and effort it was tracking it was having a little bit of meat on it me thinking down the hill downhill left to right to win the hole with birdie drop it in the front edge i won't put it past you pal it's gotta go it's gotta go it's gotta go ah good get rid of it you can take that pal wait oh that ball is hard [Laughter] all right the power. And the half little up the hill right to left nice pork never in doubt keeping in this match looking solid today.
Okay 14th part three match is still all square 145 yards to the flag you've probably got a perfect club. For that hey time yeah i'm hitting eight as well. So should do the job come on a little bit into breeze cut should be the right distance very nice shot i like the way you cut on a five yard draw you're saying that didn't come that definitely didn't cut that was a a five-yard draw in my eyes i just got something flying peeled maybe if you put your head like this it was fading it's a ricky shields phase yeah i'll teach you that one day oh no that's a cut that's a slice actually oh no oh that is not good lifeline. So i'm guessing you'd want lob wedge here normally james i don't know 50 well 56 or whatever this is sound well go with sounds too bad to be honest just open it up a little bit don't think it'll get much spin with this ball i think with a softer ball james that would have been lovely with a pro that would have neat i think i'm gonna box this pal you reckon yeah you do one yeah do you want. For two years called it oh he called it [Laughter] nice work mate made up for you thanks good job man it's a good job mine did go in 15th 365 yard path. For slight dog leg to the left i don't think i've ever said this one up against james robinson oh you're gonna try. And say you're just gonna hit fade oh it's fading if i hit the heel it's a heel gear if they do it i'll take that hey okay i'll take that get past him did it no you've done me i've outdone you just to be honest i think yours went as high as mine went long it's it's one of those clubs you just you want to give it some. But if you do it's like danger yeah 134 into the wind chippy 18 again i like this club oh that's all over it good wow player. So similar distance 130 yards nine iron got fed look at the backspin on this we've got at least at least four and a half feet of backspin here got the dreadlocks hanging off the ball right come on this is literally dead straight goes down the hill heavily first. And starts going back up the hill good port take it away thanks pal very friendly of you james. For birdie get this match back to all square three holes to go needs to go it needs to go get going [Music] from one don't waste any energy wow wow that's all square three holes to go that's all it was a bit of sun good match. So far james three three to go fifteenth a little par four back up the hill 390 yards yep going big stick big stick just gonna give it a real smoothie a little bit downwind try. And tame this shaft it's like a cupped spaghetti tube he's got a bit of whipping then.
Yeah he's got a bit of whipping it's perfect oh yeah kind of came in a bit vertical it's not got a big bounce. But it's all right downwind for me on this hole i can't really ever see driver always feels like it brings those trees into play yeah i must admit i was thinking about those. So i'm going to try. And bullet one down there with a three iron i'll do yeah that is perfect your course management is spectacular today.
Look at that you've got to level up power you played against you regardless of what clubs you're using 137 yards slightly up the hill slightly downwind come on nice pitching wedge be the distance oh well like a slam dunk from here it looked like it pitched past the flag. And i shed loads of screw on it are you going with james. So 130 yards uphill downwind just a little pitching wedge it's not far off oh that came out horrible should be good for distance it looks about right yeah okay two putts. For birdie needs to go again oh doesn't need to go okay come on. For birdie oh i didn't want to do that why did i hit it. So far fast idiot rush of blood [Music] never in doubtless never in doubt have to think about it well john rock solid with that man my best stroke. But he went in he said 17th hole two to go par four 284 yards down wind i'm feeling like i've got the club to get there i'm not sure about you james i'm just scared of hitting it hard because it's what i've learned. So far is very smooth seems to go somewhere near near the fairway anyway you fit it all right. So i'm just going to take the same approach smoothie try not to get drawn into banging it on the green oh yeah it's delightful that little drop kick before you make contacts just giving it a little bit of draw right come on shields this is your chance just geared. For a little hike in it just a little high quality or a low cut or a low straight or a low draw low draw interesting shot here james it's not easy bit of a flop shot needed not much green to work with landed it onto a down slope yeah tricky one this part with a very hard golf ball yes. And a cast sandwich but with a man of many talents just get the face open and give it a waft oh that's ridiculous that is ridiculous such a good shot honestly that was. So difficult from there i mean i've got it a tiny bit easier. But not much now even though i've got better clubs i don't feel like i've got i don't think you can buy james's confidence on a shot like this however. i'm gonna try. And channel it come on a decent shot some pretty big moments coming up this is huge i need to redeem myself after that chip this feels very very very straight back up the hill come on rick big moment what's good oh you were trying now weren't you i really tried every shot pal pick it up damn the door is a jar what are you thinking james a little left. Or right slightly down the hill just gonna a little bit of a fadey one to go one up with one to play big moment it's big oh [Music] you didn't look like missing that but i'm so glad you did one hole to go match all square right. So as we approach the last hole james in this epic battle what do you think of the clubs because i reviewed them. And thought they were kind of all right um the woods are. So so soft the shafts like the flecks of the shafts it's just really making it difficult for me to apply a bit of speed to it to be honest but uh yeah i mean they are what they are they're a cheap set of golf clubs that just gets you out playing i mean the irons are definitely like the better part of the of the set i thought that um putter to me feels really soft even though playing with a really hard golf ball it kind of balances it out maybe that's what it was designed to do playing the really hard ball the woods. For me because i swing it too fast for them like it's quite difficult really but so if someone's starting out i think that's the big thing you know i mentioned the start of the video what i was slightly worried about. Or the review video was that i'll be a massive like mailing list yeah if this gets sent to loads of non-golfers. And they buy it and they're terrible they can't play golf it's not good for the game no. But i think someone picking it up they're all right to start with yeah right. And i certainly think like i said the irons the wedges the putters they're really good. But you might just swap the woods down the line yeah i think the real winner is the groove cleaner the groove clean is awesome i think we need i think that's what we've been missing in our life trifold towels excellent last hole matches all square it's been an epic battle let's uh let's hope i can pitch you on this last one let's see right james 18th par 5 yards downwind pretty much all the way straight downwind i'd love to say just crack a couple on. But it's all down to this smoothie smoothie wooby off the tee if you had your normal clubs you'd be smashing driver down there and flicking at a seven iron driver seven iron but we'll see bouncing oh oh oh oh oh the door's a jar you'll find that though that's down the first guys i need i need your love and energy right now if you're enjoying this video make sure you hit like it's been really fun i need it to try and get me across the line here come on good drive let's rip one straight down there it's a necky little fade it's in the fairway though but when the old hands get twitchy that one will do all right james yeah spot here pal 249 would like to at three-wood. So that's what i was hoping. For okay kind of like a wedgewood oh no that's all right it's certainly got the height it's a big block it goes like a nine-nine in this club it's all right that's not 23 degrees it's like 43. okay second shot into the par five i've split the fairway downwind pins right in front of me middle of the green 200 yards to the front i'm just gonna i want to hit just a nice five line james he's set up. For it isn't it i think. So i probably could get six all right nice five oh no no no no get down ball okay 66 yards got some wedge a little bit of a down slope. But it's not too difficult just gonna try and land it between the flag and the fringe and just release it up to the flag oh it's pretty good rick won't be happy right gotta get up and down and it might only be for the house god that shot was good by james really was come on a little splash out left to right take the slope bit of a drop kick bit of a drop kick run into the hole that was lucky slippery little angle on this hole isn't that this is that big pot come on rick i've done everything in my power to beat you i've given you 200 pound golf clubs a nike velocity golf ball you've just had a kid three weeks of no sleep you're sleep deprived doing everything i can can i can i possibly sneak victory [Music] well done mate thank you welcome welcome good to halve the match.
