Hi guys my name's rick shields down here at traffic gold center in manchester and we've got this to test today.
This is the taylormade aero burner. And the aero is a big clue to what this driver is aim. For it's aerodynamic so they've stripped everything back they possibly can to make a driver that is promising incredible club head speed because how unbelievably aerodynamic is. And they've got some really cool features to how it's become so aerodynamic and apparently it's more aerodynamic than a driver on the market that advertises how aerodynamic that is as well. So i might be doing a test of that you'll have to see i do want to quickly show you the head cover because this is much better tailor made this is like a proper head cover not like the r15 that's just a winter mitt that you've manipulated into a head cover. But anyway the taylormade aero burner it is. So in your face it's untrue and in initial testing i've been quite happy and pleased with the results so i'm gonna hit five golf real golf balls on my gc2 using the simulator software to show you what this driver has to offer it's not adjustable so you can't adjust the loft it's kind of no it's no um bells. And whistles it is grip it. And rip it technology it's they've made a long shaft so it's about an inch and a bit longer than the than the r15 they've got a speed slot in the bottom to help with more clubhead ball speed off centered hits and it's just mega mega mega aerodynamic right let's give it a bit of a smash so we've gone back to the burner name i think i think taylormade is trying to just get back to their roots a little bit. And i think that's the best thing that taylormade can do you know drop all these crazy crazy clubs with crazy symbols. And just go back to their r range and their burner range and i think they're doing well i mean i'm i'm loving the r15 if you've not seen that review please do check out my channel right big white head i think this only comes in white um it has a little kind of channel on top again to help with the aerodynamics of the club i've just got this in standard stiff flex let's give it a bit of a wallop it feels. So nice to hit i've just turned that over a little bit to that left hand side so aerodynamics that's not a bad start is it two nine three not a bad start at all a little bit off the toe granted i've moved it a bit too far to the left uh good spin numbers it's not saying that it's the lowest spinning club in the world 113 miles per hour club head speed it's not bad. And for me i feel like i can swing this much faster i'm probably going to wait till the end shot. And i'm going to really go. For it let's give it another a hit very very bold even on the shaft big aero burner symbol it does feel good to hit really easy tip now there is no adjustable features on this at all not a single bit 298 good hit again. So the way i'm moving that to the left i can't change that at all in any of the settings not that maybe it would do a great deal you know maybe the weights might not do a great deal. But i can't change anything there so i just have to be quite careful about how i hit this i'm going to hit this one straighter this time i promise you i'll hit this one straighter there we go it's a little bit straighter down that still down that left-hand side. But i mean it's big get over 300. god yes good hit i like it i like it club at speed 112 again that's you know i'm i'm normally in the 110 mark club head speed. So it's it's jumping up a couple of notches um on the actual head itself it's got a very subtle just on the back edges almost a bit of a dimpled effect so a golf ball is aerodynamic because it's got dimples on. And this has got a little bit of that technology i don't think it's exactly dimples. But it's certainly a way of making the airflow over the head better and even on the neck here there's a little fin again to make it aerodynamic i presume and it seems to be doing its job so i'm currently averaging give you some average numbers um total distance averaging at 299 it's not bad at all 276 carry 2 000 spin and 112.7 club head speed let's give it another couple of hits yeah that feels great that's i am drawing it i draw the golf ball don't worry it's not the end of the world i'm drawing the golf ball. So these are going a little bit left i would accommodate that if i was out on the golf course i'd maybe aim fracturing down that right hand side i can't aim too far right because the camera's there. But i didn't down that right inside uh let's have a look at the club head speed again what was that last one one 12.8 some some very very impressive numbers certainly in the spin department i mean we're spinning average at the moment at 2005 rpm it's very very good right i'm going to go one more. And see what this club head speed can actually do whether it can really really increase it is longer it is light it has got all aerodynamic compartments noting no um kind of adjustability it is grip it. And rip it technology let's go one more so what do you think would be a good speed anything over 115 i think could be pretty impressive oh i've bottomed it. But it'll still register the clubhead speed so i didn't hit that in the middle i've hit that off the bottom of the golf club i tell you what it's still done very very well off the bottom still up to 280 and 115 miles per hour club head speed 114.5 to be exact but you can see the strike location i've bottomed that now granted i've probably lost 15 20 yards on that. But for how bad the golf shot was i mean that was bad bad it's not horrendous the result isn't horrendous with such a bad strike let's go 115 clubhead speed out the middle we're going to go throw one more shot into the mix sales only gonna do five. But i think if i get this 115 out the middle this could be big this could be big that felt awesome it's almost a bit like you know the cobra long tom video i might have done a few months back it almost reminds me of that feeling it's long it's it's 114. For 299 total distance i hit it much more at the middle it's that it's got that feel to the club i wouldn't say it's massively manageable so i think. For direction it's not the greatest golf club in the world but for simplicity and speed and distance i think the taylormade aero burner is definitely the golf club you should be looking at like i say it's long it's bold it's brash it's out there it's from a price point it will be much cheaper than the r15. And it's got some very very clever technology i love in this dimple effect and i do think i'm going to test it against the well might as well say the turbulator the g30 i'll do a review head to head between the two. And see where these two aerodynamic drivers fit and how they compete against each other guys thank you for watching um very quickly on the averages so i just run through that 130 miles per hour clubhead speed that's good i'm happy with that 295 total distance 273 carry distance and that was including one of a really bad golf shot in there it's spun at 2200. But again with that one bad one that's but at 3 000. so i would expect that spin rate to be about two which is very very good. For a driver that isn't massively pushing how low spinning this golf club is easy to hit. Yet not super easy to hit straight because of the length guys thank you for watching do comment down below let me know what you think about the taylormade aero burner i have been told that they're only bringing these two out we'll see we'll see i think they're bringing adaptions out of the r15. So in black and smaller head i think they might be probably bringing the tp version of this out. But i think that should be it. For a bit for taylormade let's hope so guys thank you for watching do thumb up the video subscribe by clicking the link down below. And that was the taylormade aero burner with a much better head cover thanks. For watching guys we'll see you all soon.
