This is the future of driver technology well that's what Callaway they're claiming anyway in this video I'm going to give you the full honest review of the brand new Callaway Paradigm drivers [Music] [Music]. So here we go it's the start of a brand new year and that means one thing the start of driver release season now don't forget to subscribe to this channel you don't want to miss out on any videos that are coming very soon. And also if you've not heard yet I've got a review Channel that's going to be coming out very soon I'll link it in the top line of the description be sure to jump over there. And subscribe there's going to be loads more. And I mean loads more reviews in 2023. But we're kicking things off with these bad boys Callaway Drivers Paradigm is the name there's three in the line up. And I'll come on to why they're different to each other in a moment there's lots of Technology but let's first think a little bit I didn't expect this name not even a little bit Callaway have known to be epic Maverick Rogue. For a number of years now they've gone completely a different direction because they believe this driver has technology that's never been done before and they're the first ones to ever do it now when we look at these drivers I've got to admit I wasn't sold at first. But I first saw him I thought they don't they don't jumping off the driver the graphics the design isn't really floating my boat however. to spending a bit more time with it I'm actually starting to fall a little a little bit in love with the looks now it's funny because these drivers almost look like a super premium super exclusive super expensive Japanese only launch and what I mean by that a lot of companies bring out a driver that's mainly aimed at the Asian market which has picked at a much higher price point this driver maybe because of the graphics. Or even the naming kind of looks like that sort of really expensive Driver Line even the head cover would suggest that this kind of glossy leather now by the way I'm not saying they're not expensive these are going to be retailing at 599 pounds. But probably going in stores at around about 529 pounds now in this review I test them indoor GC quad. And also out on the golf course as well to give you my full honest in-depth and independent review of these drivers so let's talk about the tech first I'm going to read this off just because I want to get it absolutely spot on Callaway believe they've done that industry first carbon 360 Degrees chassis. And that's this middle bit around the driver that is one solid piece which has never been done before in carbon a lot of Manufacturers are you using carbon these days men because it's lightweight. And it's strong and it means they can save weight. And move it around the driver head exactly what color they put in this driver they've also Enlisted the services of this super computer they bought a number of years ago and they've asked it how can it improve the face even more. So there's a new AI face in here which is going to offer more ball speed more forgiveness across the face not just in the middle. And also if you remember going back to Epic a number of years ago we brought in jailbreak two steel rods that sat behind the head that connected the top. And bottom of the driver well guess what they've asked the AI computer can that be improved. And computer the supercomputer said yes it made it lighter. And stronger to effectively transfer the energy from the driver into the ball to give you guys more distance these are the claims don't forget I'll tell you whether that's the truth in this video. And finally they've introduced a new face cook technology and forged titanium phase for higher energy transfer and ball speed now with all that being said we've heard this every year from manufacturers it's helping a driver become more forgiving faster straighter helps you hit the ball better like. So let's see if that's the case in this review now there's three drivers in the lineup this is the paradigm. And this is the standard version it's got one weight at the back which can be moved from neutral to fade. And to draw and this is a 460 CC sized head really aim. For the most golfers the standard Paradigm there's then.
The Paradigm X which I think is a very interesting driver this year again 460 CC. But this is now going to offer higher launch. And higher forgiveness levels and that driver this one here hasn't got a sliding weight at the back it's got one five gram weight at the back and it's slightly raw biased so again I would probably categorize that for you kind of mid to higher handicappers they want ultimate forgiveness and then.
Last but not least the potential low spin monster the Paradigm Triple Diamond this is a 450 CC head shapes a little bit smaller. And that's got a 14 gram weight that can be moved to the front to offer lower spin now typically you could say triple diamonds. For your lower handicapper Elite player your tour Pros your Paradigm standard is. For most golfers middle of the range handicaps and the Paradigm X would be for your higher handicapper who wants more forgiveness and stop it slicing now stay tuned to the end of the video because you might be surprised and I was certainly very surprised to which of these drivers would best suit my game okay now it's time. For the fun part smacking these drivers seeing what they're all about and I like them whether I don't like them give them a proper test so went straight onto the golf course and started hitting started with the standard version First the Paradigm standard now I must admit behind the golf ball I think it looks fantastic I really do like the blue kind of again had to grow on me as I started hitting more. And more shots it's a big footprint it really is. And from initial shots it felt like it had a decent level of forgiveness one thing I noticed though straight off the bat strikes from the bottom of the head sounded or quite really really bad hit shots hit higher on the face sounded much more crunched that real kind of satisfying noise so again no data just. Yet what a good strong start next.
Up was the triple diamond the low spin monster I was excited to hit this one 450 CC head. And as I put that club Behind the ball I noticed something on the crowd now this had come straight from Callaway directly to me to review and there was a ship in the two now this isn't the first time the company sent to me with a chip gravity. But I think it's just worth noting if you're buying golf clubs. So for these 529 pound be sure to inspect them when you pick them up from the shop now this driver's straight from the Paradigm standard had a very different noise that much more crunchier noise on all shops around the head um but straight away I could tell it was definitely going to be the least forgiving that low spin I was hitting it long when I caught it I could tell by the flight. But there was more to the right. And left and then.
Finally the Paradigm X I give this a whack again the one that maybe shouldn't be suited to me is kind of higher handicapper anti-slice driver I was really surprised I was really impressed I think it actually looks the best behind the golf ball as like this kind of really almost like maximum sized driver head I currently use the 425 the pinged Max. And it kind of had that similar footprint I was very impressed that driver the hits that I hit straight around the golf course were very easy to hit. And actually looked pretty good now they were the first initial shots out on the golf course. And so fast so good right however. all I was really looking. For was looks sound. And a bit of feel I had no date I didn't know actually how far these golf shots were going. So it's time for the real test get them onto a large monitor with Pro V ones and collecting some data now it's important to collect this data to see if these drivers are as forgiving. And as long as Callaway claims are going to be. So after hitting loads of shots with all three drivers I started to dive into the data that was very very interesting a lot of Brands when they bring out multiple drivers I sometimes don't see that much of a difference between the drivers. But it's so my new however. in this lineup I actually saw a much bigger differences between the three drivers and it was very very interesting to find out I'm going to start with the Paradigm standard one first now this impressed me once I started to work out where the best strike was which separate if this driver is slightly higher on the face I started to hit this driver really really well it felt like it had a very strong level of forgiveness I felt like the mishits weren't as punishing. And as bad and overall the performance was really good now typically as you've seen my reviews before we driver I'd love to try. And carry the golf ball about 280 yards with a roughly 160 miles per hour ball speed with spin rates around 2000 The Standard Version actually slightly pick those numbers so the standard driver for me was carrying 286 yards with just under 2 000 RPM spin which is pretty good. And the ball speed close to but not getting over 160 miles per hour it's just a tiny bit below overall very impressed about driver the next.
Driver I wanted to test was the Paradigm X the one with a slightly draw bias now I'll be honest with you I didn't think this driver was going to suit me one bit let's be honest I don't really need any more assistance to draw the golf ball I was unbelievably surprised with this driver what it really was it was by far the easiest model to hit without question which he just bet. But it was like ultimate forgiveness it launched a little bit higher it spun a little bit more. But I found the dispersion was. So good wow I couldn't almost hit it offline if I started it slightly down the left it didn't curve it just went straight left if I pushed it a tiny bit to the right it stayed to the right I wouldn't say it's so much an anti-slife driver and I'll be honest with you I wouldn't even say it was that draw biased now because of a little bit of extra spin a little bit of extra large it encouraged to me as far it only carried at 275 still be very happy with. But I genuinely believe I would never miss a fairway if I use that driver like it was really really impressive. So after thorough testing with all three drivers the results are in as you can see there there is one clear winner in distance the triple diamond. And I believe average carry distance of 298 yards that's 18 yards than I want on average I mean it was an absolute Beast the Paradigm Standard Version also did very well averaging 286 yards of carry distance again better than what I'd normally looked. For and even the X did well like the Paradigm X was carrying 275 yards on average all of the data is there as well if you want to dive into a little bit more. And if you only went of distance and let's be honest when you're buying a driver it's very easy to only go on distance it's a bit of an ego thing you'd be thinking triple diamond in the bag that's the driver for you however. Next.
Step was going out on the golf course again armed with this information what was I going to see the next.
Time I took these drivers out on the golf course well straight away naturally I pulled out the triple diamond off the Thirsty. And my home Golf Course he's quite nervous you want to hit a straight one you want it a good one uh it was very uh very noticeable the triple diamond as much as it's a very very long driver when you walk when you're smashing it as hard as you can in a simulator standing there on a First Tee. For me that triple diamond was a bit of a disaster it went left it went right it went in the trees granted there was a few that I absolutely knotted down the middle of their way it went furthest. But overall it's like a caged animal for me distance yes it has definitely. But Direction literally not got a clue where it's gonna go and again that's a bit of a warning for everybody watching like numbers on a screen on a launch when it's don't always translate into accuracy or what you actually want to see on a golf course so next.
Year I went back to these two I went to Paradigm and Paradigm X totally different experience like totally different it's like easy and controllable and you know measured like the Paradigm is a really solid flight I actually over the three drivers this one. For me is definitely one that I genuinely might consider putting my bag this year it was very very good it was forgiven enough it had that extra bit of distance which sometimes I'm looking. For and it was very good. But again I could easily genuinely put the X in the bag one of the most forgiving drivers I've ever hit in my life ever yes it doesn't go as far as the big dog over here the triple diamond you know if I smoked both of them there might be a 25 yard gap between them. But Fairway is sometimes more important than 25 yards further in trees. Or out of bounds are in trouble. So overall what do I think about the Callaway Paradigm drivers I think they're very good I do not perfect if they could if they could make the triple diamonds distance with the X's forgiveness level. Or that would be the perfect driver this is somewhere close to that the standard Paradigm. But if they did that that would be the winning driver. For me but it just goes to show don't pigeonhole yourself into a category just because that's what the manufacturer driver says you should use test them resume get fitted I think what I like about this range this year is all three drivers a very very different different I feel like they have a very wide category of golfer that would enjoy these drivers. But overall a very good lineup from color this year and you never know this one or this one could certainly be going in my bag guys thanks.
