This is a driver you probably won't try. But if you're in the market for a new driver this is one that you definitely should [Music] when it comes to drivers there's typically a handful of brands you'll see in most golfers bags callaway taylormade titleist ping. And now possibly from cobra but in this video i review a cleveland driver and it really impressed me so this is the brand new cleveland launcher hb turbo driver. And it is one good looking driver i love the matte finish on this very simplistic design it kind of reminds me quite similar to a ping driver let's talk about the tech that cleveland are claiming this driver has. So the first thing is turbocharged cup face they claim it's going to deliver faster ball speeds inverted high ball crown with an ultralight puzzle of 35 grams of deep weight. And that deep weight is positioned as far back. And as low as possible to help with forgiveness to help the ball launch up in the air they claim it therefore. it's going to help you find more fairways. And one thing that's quite unique about this drive and you don't really see it these days this is non-adjustable there's no weights. And it's a glued head so you can't even adjust the shaft which seems crazy these days there might be some pros and cons that i will discuss because of that actually comes in a slightly lesser price points than some of the mainstream drivers 309 pounds. And 350 dollars when it first comes out which is definitely you know at least minimum 50 to probably 200 pounds. And dollars cheaper than some of the main drivers so i got out on the driving range to give it a test to hit it for the first time and those first looks behind the ball definitely impressed me when i got it out in the sunlight the way that the black crown the matte finish just looks spectacular it's a good looking driver i like the head shape a lot it definitely has similar characteristics to let's say a ping g410 certainly on the top here towards the back where it's almost got like a dimply effect to help with aerodynamics i also put a clip of me hitting this driver on social media to see if you guys could guess what driver it was a few of you managed to guess it was the cleveland. But the majority was either guessing it was a ping. Or a phd driver and i can see those similarities with that question today.

It was time to get some pro v1 on gc quad. And give this bad boy a smash [Music] so after smashing some with the cleveland driver i want to talk about the feel and the sound first before we come on to some of the data it feels good it's a solid feel it sounds a little bit higher pitched i'd love it to come a little bit more study but that's just personal preference but so far it did what i needed to do. And the flight was solid. So i've looked at some of the data because for me on gc quad i was getting 160 miles per hour ball speed which is great. And 288 yards of carry distance with a spin of 2 000 now granted i didn't really get specs up for this driver because it's there's nothing to really change i got standard shaft i would normally use a tensile extra stiff and i got this driving nine degrees of loft but i can't change that now i can't change the weight i can't deloft it or increase loft lucky for me numbers kind of matched up to what i wanted to do. But they were impressive numbers. So after smashing it a few times on the range i thought it'd only be fair to validate and give this driver a good hit on the golf course [Music] [Applause] [Music] so let's talk about the positives and the negatives with the cleveland driver for me after spending some time on the course i found that the positives was i love the look of the driver i think it's a mean looking head i found it easy to hit. So i found a lot of fairways and also it was long really good positives on the negative side. And this is more. For me i didn't massively like the sound it's just a little bit high pitched yeah i'd like it to be a little bit more thuddy. And also it sits a little bit close so when i sit it behind the ball if i've got trouble left i'm kind of a bit worried about i'm going to hook it too much luckily i didn't on the testing. But i can imagine if someone with a hook that would have a massive effect. So this last point i want to talk about can be seen as a positive. And a negative in the fact that this driver is non-adjustable now a couple of benefits to that first off it brings the price down second thing a lot of golfers don't want to get complicated with adjustability just being able to pick up this. And go out and play suits a lot of golfers and the fact that it's then.

A fixed head can also be seen as a negative because if you went. For a custom fitting for this driver the fitter can't quite dial you in as much they may not be able to optimize the ball flight for you compared to adjustable drivers so overall i rate this driver it really impressed me more than expected to do. So and if you're in the market for a new driver this cleveland one is definitely one to try. But how many of you really would because cleveland aren't known for drivers they're known for making wedges and a couple of more examples of that let's say mizuno they're known for the irons but it'd be weird if you played with someone who had a mizuno ball but they do make them similar to shrieks. And trixon are really well known. For their golf ball but having nobody uses their driver and again they still make it and taylormade only recently because they pumped way more marketing into their golf ball it's now seen as a premium competitor for pro v1 i think as golfers we've got to be slightly more open-minded try different things because often we'll be surprised companies market heavily in areas they want to either grow. Or they're really good at but often they'll make really good clubs in other categories that you should try and this cleveland driver is a perfect example of that thanks. For watching stay tuned lots more to come we'll see you next.

Time.
