Right I'm going shopping I'm gonna go. And buy a full set of golf clubs now this is a full set of golf clubs that caught my attention because it's Callaway sir full set of Callaway clubs I think it's a full set. For 500 pounds were around about that price which is to pull out to context you're looking to get a full set of Callaway clubs the ones that come out like maverick etc a brand new you wouldn't get a lot of change out. For probably about 2 2 grands maybe two and a half thousand pounds for a full set this to be 500 pounds is really intriguing. So I'm gonna go on fire them and test them and see what 500 pound Callaway set has to offer so here we are this is the set was all about Callaway edge I've never heard of Callaway edge easy to hit. And design for distance it's a 10 piece sets look at that looks like an act thick it's like a different version of an ethic you get driver a fairway wood hybrid six lines and a putter look at this I can't put that foot along so it's a white heart with a super stroke grip and price wise it says here it's 400 pound plus VAT so it's gonna be [ __ ] no just under 500 pound 480 pounds I'm not going to give away the store that I'm in. But you might be able to get they are worldwide these stores now telling a half regular right-handed every single box says ten a half regular right happy guess what that's what we're gonna get look at this proper box look at these I can't wait to unbox it see how they look right I'm also put up rice you don't get a bag I think I'm gonna get it back this is 70 pounds. So dark it's 550 pounds let's go and buy it to see what the Callaway I just walk okay pick them up five hundred fifty quid now it's a shame it's just thighs the sons are starting to go down. So I'm probably gonna take these golf clubs out on the course tomorrow now as a side note I'm not going to use these clubs in the future. And it would be a shame if I didn't take the Maverick out as well to test it against it right let's get to the course tomorrow so it's a new day we've arrived at the golf course with the Callaway edge full set now a couple of things the price within being 500 pounds not for one minute I'm not saying that's cheap but for a full set Callaway clubs that is considerably cheaper than what you would get in the marketplace now of nearly 2,000 pounds I have done videos on sets that are even cheaper than this they weren't Callaway Club sucks what's the biggest difference is I'm going to open them up find out what's inside. But before I do let's read a little bit over the box oh it's quite heavy right driver oversized titanium head with thin thin. And fast face and load deep center of gravity making all the right words on that 3-wood aerodynamic head compact head for the five hybrid and I you've got a six an eight nine picture wedging sandwich that's pretty impressive large cavity back head positions blah-dee blah-blah about forgiveness and this obviously pots if you didn't know obviously is owned by Callaway. And what I'm fascinated about is wow this is super stroke grip cuz I can really classic design that how good does that look now one of the questions I have is are these real Callaway clubs because it kind of make you think they're not let me just see what is actually oh here we go there's a little bit more here in the corner Callaway golf calm thank you. For purchasing Callaway clubs they are from Callaway yeah they're absolutely from Callaway now I think they're exclusive to the store that are born from. But they are Callaway golf was right let's open them let's find out what's inside before take them out on the golf course it actually comes with a head cover I didn't expect head covers [Music] [Music]. So you have it they look better than I expected to look a big positive and something I honestly didn't envision head covers and actually really smart I've covers as well so as you've seen got driver which let's go to like the kind of gray finish on it it's not adjustable it's telling a half degrees and as you saw in the shop it's regular shafted and that's the big issue with a set like this obviously you cannot get custom fit with these clubs I suppose they'll come in a couple of setting different options but that is a good-looking driver the head covers came as a surprise the ions six down to sandwich again look good I love our chrome they are it was all said to me they cost eight hundred pound I probably go okay yeah I can't see why I would disagree with that. And then.
This little beauty this is incredible obviously pro one white hot water I mean that is as good as you would get now to put some perspective on that as well if you were to go. And get just a white hot putter you've got to be looking near to a hundred pounds I'm impressed with that set it's it surprised me how good it looks couple the downsides obviously the law stops at sand wedge so you might want a lob wedge option potentially and it doesn't give you loads of range like I've got no longer ins. But through fair I've got five hybrid well just for playing golf it does alright as you saw I bought the bike separate this up wouldn't come normally that has really impressed me how good they look. So I'm gonna take him out in the golf course and give them a test as I mentioned they're not fitted for me something I expect imperfect performance but are these clubs gonna last I'm not gonna be able to smash it with driver in this deal with sand a proper hit. And if you do perform really well what start telling us about Callaway expensive clubs. And they're just too pricey well let's take them out in the golf course the Callaway edge the secret set from Callaway to see if they can actually perform on the course okay clubs are ready to go I'm going to stick up back in my car don't forget I'm gonna give these clubs away stay tuned to end the video to find it's winter. And also I'm going to take this color white edge driver. And compare it to the Callaway maverick driver on the course let's go okay. So I'm going to play a long par five with the Callaway club's first impressions this doesn't look like a cheap driver that doesn't potentially look like a brand new one that's just hit the stores. But it doesn't look cheap you know it's probably Callaway prices maybe a 250 pound 300 pound I'd probably say yeah that's about fair right let's give it a hit as I mentioned it's got no adjustability ten-and-a-half regular. So I'm gonna give it a little bit of leeway on performance but I'm intrigued just to sell it feels and how it flies it's got a nice weight to it but you can feel the heads positioning. And often with let's say kind of bull GT sets the shaft often feels very whipped here just a bit inferior product this doesn't it feels alright it is regular. So it's gonna have a little bit of whip right looks good behind the ball that kind of grey finish reminds me of like an X hawk driver from in the past alright see what this can do. So hey the little built the right hand side just made a good noise it felt good and in the swing it felt like I knew where the head positioning was it's a good start with the driver there I am intrigued later in the video to test it against the Maverick okay just shot at the bunker I'm gonna hit this little hybrid of five hybrid same finishes the drivers kind of gray finish by the more polished face I actually quite like the fact that a 5-iron effectively the hybrid because again probably golfing wants to buy this set doesn't really need a 5. Or a 4 iron now this isn't the easiest shot water left bunkers up the right a bit of a scrappy lie ok let's see what this can do I've got away without hits it on the toe oh it started right. But it's in a decent position I just definitely don't want to miss left there how to judge how that fell because I hit it very much off-center but it was decent forgiveness. So I'm gonna throw one down so I want to give this 3-wood ahead because I would have hit all of the woods let's see if I can hit this green from here oh it's a scrappy lie. But get on that flag go just sure the flag wasn't my best strike but it kind of doesn't perform any difference to the three would normally hear the links in the shaft just feels maybe a little bit soft for me but obviously that's just because it's not fitted after hitting all the three wards and bearing in mind a new driver from Callaway is like five hundred pound it's a full set. And pretty much nearly including bag is only just over 500 quid can't quite see why these are. So cheap to share or why potentials are the ones the new ones are. So expensive that was alright it did what it needed to do okay. So third shot into the par five and the first chance I get to hit the irons I'm gonna hear it for as a pitching wedge okay I tried it a soft pitching wedge these are. So classic Callaway shape slightly bigger tone very very low in the hosel you soon again now whatever I've tested clubs that are gained from kind of a budget. So I always feel like the stick the steel shafts always feel a little bit better than the graphite so I can't imagine is feeling too different not gonna be a full one of these a nice delicate one that felt great it's might have to go a little bit. For an edge didn't quite get the distance I have no idea on the loss of these by the way now I felt better than expected I'm looking forward to getting onto the par-3 next.
To see how those other irons feel let's get on the green. And test the putter okay. So this is where that thinned 3-wood got to I almost got on the green which wasn't too bad. And this is where my actual ball is just off the side of the green with a chance. For birdie how much of us are genuinely excited about testing this putter I think this. So far without even hitting it to me is the most that's a surprising Club in this bug the white heart obviously certainly with the super stroke grip I just never expected in a million years its of a proper super stroke grip. And a head cover see we make birdie with it just off the green slight right to left through it almost made birdie with the 500-pound callaway set let's make sure we make par nice right when they hit for you pops with it and get a bit more of a feel with this pot it does feel it feel good though on first hits [Music] you know what that feels good it feels just like a normal obviously posture as I mentioned there's normally about hundred pound just. For itself and yeah. So far it's been my most impressive Club in the set so one hold on one power made just before I got to the next.
Tee I thought I'd go on to a website and price or what it would actually cost it wants to go full set of maverick clubs callaway maverick in almost the same configurations the driver 3-wood irons etc etc get this the price that it would cost me so well pretty much much it is one thousand seven hundred. And seventy five pounds didn't include a back now as I mentioned a couple of times of this video they set including the bag was five hundred. And fifty pounds there is not twelve hundred pounds difference in these two sets it's just not I can't see at all as much as it's not adjustable etc it still works like the club's work. But is it the fact that those clubs that that price are too expensive is it this is almost to cheaper I can't quite get my head around it. For me it feels like accountants on the color I can justify that price when they can bring out a set at this price doesn't kind of make sense I'm gonna play part three five shots let's even get holding on 140 yards I'm gonna hit an 8-iron into this green. So four shot so fast three on the green ones miss left the threes on the green a right next.
To each other but all just a little bit ride club sound good I just need to get one straight down the neck of the flag this time come up trust it well those four golf shots are the right side of the flag on the green. And the most four consistent golf shots I'm over here and feel good sound good and four out of five greens hit so as I was walking down to the green net. And admiring these four shots that hit the green in fairness and no one missed like the left it got me thinking more it made me even more confused how ping Callaway justify a set like this cost a third of the price of let's say full set of Maverick clubs it just doesn't make sense because yes granted you can't get fitted on these clubs I get that I understand their poor performance wise it's all really well I'm gonna hit a few more pots with this putter. And I've got to test that driver against maverick I'm intrigued because the Maverick that almost cost the same set price is the full set of clubs. But stay tuned again to win this full set I think someone deserve these clubs because they're pretty good right I see if I make some birdies [Music] [Music]. So here comes the driver test Calloway maverick the correct shop in there the correct loft fitted and when it comes out in retail it's 450 pounds all-singing all-dancing versus the Callaway edge driver the driver from this box set now simple maths set cost me 400 a pound it's a 10 piece set so in theory this driver cost 40 a pound it's a tenth of the price of the Maverick I mean it's on the launch monitor. So see how much of a difference there are there is you'd expect maverick to win on distance all day long. But by how much couple of things hedging in 10 and 1/2 degree in regular Shaffers we've talked about already not custom-fit and there is the tiniest difference in length the Maverick is how they were measurable longer let's hit 3 with each. And let's see what number set okay Callaway edge 270 was the shortest with the maverick to 7 the 280 was the longest let's see what the edge can do it straight down the middle right the first shot almost beat the shortest from the maverick okay last shot 270 was the shortest nearly 280 was the longest with maverick this has almost got 270 come on right Oh not bad - 6 5 tell you what - golfers with regular shafts in both that might have been even more of closer distances Callaway edge 1/10 of the price of maverick was only a few yards sure - that is crazy you know what these clubs impress me the fact that they're a third of the price of a full set of maverick clubs I didn't expect them to be as good as they were it makes me confused. And question the fact that how can Callaway.
