Hi guys my name is rick shields down here at traffic gold center in manchester. And we've got some tightlist drivers to test we've got the 915 d2 and the 915 d3 so the brand new drivers from titleist and we've got some really clever bits of tech in these drivers so we're going to test them on gc2 hitting real golf balls with the simulator software. And see what they can do we're going to go d2 first guys to check out d3 video check up in the window up here in the corner i'm gonna do them separate because even though the technologies behind them are the same they're going to be producing very different results right the two drivers. So this is the 460 version is the bigger head. And they've got why i say they've got new tech in it it's the first time i've really seen titleist introduce visible technology things that you can actually see obviously inside the head they've always used very clever bits of movements in the weights. And everything else but now they've actually brought that onto the outset and with this this is the arc the arc the active recoil channel it's a big long deep slot that sits on the sole of the golf club pretty close to the face. So it's it's there it's it's visible and what it does what does it actually do. So the guys that the guys that manufactures the guy the titleist have noticed when the ball hits the club face there's flex there's contact and the club face flexes now normally all that flex and all that contact gets all that pressure gets applied to the top of the head the crown so what they've said is well hold on let's balance that out because if it happens at the top the face almost tilts backwards slightly. And creates a bit of spin and that's no good. For us we don't want to spin with the driver because we want to hit the ball a long way so they said well hold on why don't we even that spread out. So if it flexes at the top we need it to flex at the bottom and that's where the arc came in the active recoil channel because when the club then.

Hits it almost springs evenly across the face top and bottom side to side therefore. offering massive amounts of forgiveness with low spin should we give it a go let me hit one first i'm going to tell you a bit more about the golf club. So 460 lovely tireless looking head it's big it's got this awesome black finish and it's almost a bit sparkly as well under these lights it looks good now i've recently just been down to titleist to get fitted for both of these drivers these are in my spec um i did do some filming down there. But due to technical issues i've had to refill them so this is the whole new test again with real golf balls gt2 it's going to be similar results to what i saw. And the results down there were pretty good. So big head 460. now the only thing they've done on the head this time is i believe accidentally they've actually swapped the logo round on the head the actual triangle i don't think it's going to make a big difference to titles fans out there not going to notice too much let's give this a smash oh that felt good yes please that felt very good. So i look at the flight and it's landing up there at you know nearly 217 flight 270 bang on 288 total distance it feels nice it feels like it's got some fast fast face to i'm going to talk spin rates. And everything else towards the end of the video that was a decent hit now the shaft that i got this in this is the the rogue a dealer shaft. And actually had it fitted and extra stiff because i seem to be generating so much more clubhead speed with this i decided to go a little bit stiffer in the shaft just to help with the dispersion i mean nothing wrong with that that first one. And so this is extra stiff. And now they've got loads of shaft options guys to check out also more information about this club and what spec it comes in and all bits of data i've put a link in my description go and click that to find out even more about this golf club right let's hit another oh it does feel nice off the face very very similar ball flight almost identical ball flight tiny bit shorter that time. So because they've introduced his arc this active recoil channel and reduced the spin what it's allowed them to is keep the center of gravity back. So you've got the weight in the back of the head now unlike other manufacturers the the sldr for example where they've had to move the weight forward with moving this weight back apparently it's keeping the head more stable so on off centered hits the club doesn't twist as much so tight list have always been always been about the serious golfer and always been kind of under this umbrella as being the almost a better goal fighter it was always the impression i got titleist was. For the better golfer and i think they've opened the doors a bit more here i think they've opened the doors to a bigger market to golfers who aren't as single figure golfers as they normally would do. And that's that's something again that's quite new to titleist you know they've they've always stuck to the guns with they've brought the ap one out big forgiving iron the drivers are a bit more forgiving now. So it's definitely worth trying right let's hit a couple more it's so easy to it it feels nice i mean look at those three ball flights absolutely identical ball flights a little bit longer that time is it going to get over 300 oh not quite it's a 276 carry um some other bits of information i found out from the titles guys was because they'd managed to um move this arc they made the face too fast. So the face was acting too fast. And you know goes back to the ears of the trampoline driver faces where the face would almost spring off they had to slow down the face so they've thickened it the thick in the middle of the clubface what it's allowed them to do then.

Is to actually make the outer edges of the face thinner. So on off-centered hits the ball still gets trampolined out there to a certain degree now i'm going to test it in this video because i'm going to get five shots. So we can actually look at some stats. But that's that's again something quite new to titles that the making drivers with again with the intention of miss hits in in mind which is good all right let's go two more can i get one over 300. Or it might just be a fraction to the right but that's the the worst one-off line i've hit and it's not even that far offline it's still right down there and it's still considering it's a bit offline it's still pretty long it's pretty long so before we look at some specs i'm gonna go one more one more shot so we've got five so we can have a look at some speed some spins some lofts whatever we need to look at on the screen. And i'm going to check out d3 slightly smaller head. And apparently less spinning so guys go and check out the window up here for that because that's going to be coming up very soon i'm also going to test one of these two against my current driver the sldr to see how it performs i would say the sldr more than the g30 just because of the hype really right let's go one more with the uh the d2 yeah i can't i can't say much much wrong about that driver that is a big long hitting easy to hit driver that makes sense with the technology with the arc with the weight back. And also they've got the adjustability neck something i probably i should have touched on earlier on in the video but they've got the adjustability in that most drivers do that now. So you can adjust the loft you can chuck adjust the light to adjust the uh dispersion to a degree right let's have a look at some figures. So we can actually see what what it's actually produced with hitting real golf balls on gc2 all right guys. So five shots with the d2 we've got club head speed and 110 which is good. And that's why i have to go with the extra stiff shaft ball speed of 160 that's that's pretty fast for a uh for a driver you know i would probably see my fastest drivers have been in the high 160s so active recall is probably still maintaining a bit of ball speed um if we have a look at the backspin that's the one that we're looking. For really backspin total backspin the average was 2900. now i'm going to expect the next.

Drive of the d3 to be less spinning than that carry distance 270 average 289 total very very good data. And very you can see that offline column hardly a single one offline probably shot number four was offline. So guys titleist 9 15 d2 it's the the technology makes sense to me with the arc with the weight back it's producing good figures is it world breaking i'm not sure in the maybe different hands it might be. But it's got a lot of sense of the driver looks good looks very classic and is easy to hit guys do subscribe click in the link down here i want to i want to give you the first opportunity to watch every one of my videos as soon as you click that you'll get a notification about that comment down below let me know what you think about this driver. And do like the video if you enjoyed it certainly with the simulator software we can see a lot more about the ball flight now. And don't forget guys the link in the description down below will tell you more about this driver. So what shafts it comes in what options it comes in it's definitely worth having a look at as well guys thanks very much watching and stay tuned for the d3 video.
