So it's a sunny morning and i've just arrived at the golf course i'm here at the marriott worsley park i'm going to answer some of your questions i'm going to do a q a play some golf get some practicing. And hopefully cover some really good questions and hopefully some juicy ones as well guys if you're new to my channel welcome i'm rick shiels if you enjoy this video make sure you smash that like and also make sure you subscribe let's go on the first tee i might have to play batman's it's quite busy and uh let's get into some questions okay questions are flying in already as i get my clubs out first question is are you sponsored by a golf company well the answer is no certainly not any manufacturer i'm not sponsored by any of the manufacturers which means i can use whatever clubs i wish. And also give you the most honest reviews so that's my garmin and nike but that is that is it all club brands i've said no to many i've almost said no to every single brand about sponsorship because i just like playing with all different types of clubs let's get on the course. So i'm about to go and play some golf but i've just got some news that is hot off the press i want to fill you in tight list i've announced three new sets of irons. And they're going to be debuted in this week at the u.s open they brought three irons. And they look stunning they've got the 620 mb's the 620 cbs and the titleist t100 irons so first glances there are definitely different modern look to the iron the cb hasn't changed massively it's interesting why they're calling it the 620 range now i don't really know where the six has come from they have used the six before titles years ago. But the 20 definitely comes for their new 2020 range it kind of keeps in keeping with two years ago they brought out the 718s for the 2018 range the 620cb i'm so glad to see that iron in the range again the cb iron is up my favorite iron of the title set the cavity back. And it's good to see it have a revamp in this new lineup and then.

The titleist t100 from first looks that to me looks like it could be an ap2 replacement uh it will sit in that lineup it's a forged iron as it says on the hosel um i don't know loads more about it. Yet but this is breaking news i'm gonna do a q a today.

Anyway. But half the press are talking about these title signs. So at the moment i know nothing about prices and i'm sure they're not gonna be announced till september but i can't imagine these irons are going to be cheap they certainly look very expensive i would expect. So what titleists are very good at this title will typically get it out into tour seeding early. So that's what's happening right now at the u.s open tour seeding will progress. For a number of months to fine-tune any difficulties or any challenges that they have with the irons ready for public release at the back end of the year typically september time if you want to see me review these irons smash that like and also leave me a comment down below which of the three irons we're seeing there are your favorite looking because this comes off the back only last week did they talk about bringing out two new hybrids. And two new utility irons and it makes sense now because titleist a number of years ago brought out their rescue clubs or their hybrids and their utility irons in conjunction with that iron launch so this was probably a bit of a telltale sign that this was gonna happen the utility irons is again a different number numbering system i'm not sure where they're going with this just. Yet um it's the u 500 and the u-510 utility islands are driving irons in accompanying with the ts2. And ts3 hybrids i've got to say this year titleist clubs are looking stunning. And as long as don't bring out too many of them it'll be interesting to see my guess i'm going to go out on a limb here i reckon you're going to probably see a t200 which will probably replace an ap1 this is just speculation i don't know any facts about this. Yet and possibly a t300 which might replace something like the ap um oh no the tmb range potentially we'll see what happens look stunning new lineup from titleist irons the rest of the video is going to be a q a i had all this planned to before go out playing golf. But i saw this hit the press and thought i've got to fill you in i say as soon as i know more information you guys will be the first to know i've got loads of questions to answer from you guys let's get on the golf course. And answer some of them now okay. So james lambert on twitter has asked will there be another youtube golf day. And also how much did you raise at the first one it's a great question um ray the amount of money we raised from the first one it is still currently right now still being raised. So we're targeting 15 000 pounds which is amazing. For prostate cancer uk thanks for all your support if you do want to donate the link is live down below um. And then.

Will there be another one it's a great great question this year was fun i enjoyed doing it as the first one of its kind i would love to do another. But i'm not sure when just watch this space when i decide to do one you're not going to miss it. But yeah i'm not fully decided. Yet all right there's a chaser old bluey edward bellamy asks on youtube community how old are you when you first started playing golf. So i was technically the very first time i hit a golf ball i was 10 years old my mum actually got into it first my mum got bought some lessons. And i would go down to the driving range while she was having a lesson. And hit some balls the first year kind of just dabbled in it and then.

From 11 i became a member of the golf club and i've not looked back since um i kind of wish i was younger. But also i felt like at that age i appreciated it and it changed my football or soccer more into golf but yeah it was good i was 10 years old when i first hit my golf ball first ever hit the first ball you're gonna give me that one thanks okay par three 168 yards i'm going to hit a little a-time into this it's a very inviting pin back left fancy this one break break. So rocco was asked how did you hit a stinger well this is a perfect hole first off you're going to play low lofted you got to go. For a one iron two iron three iron max i've got a little two iron here 18 degrees ideally you want to be putting ball position slightly back in the stance open the body up a fraction and feel like you're really driving the handle forward of the club head trying to de-loft one of the tricks is don't hit it too hard as soon as you hit it hard speed starts to make the ball go up in the air. So if you can go a little bit shorter in the swing hit a fraction softer. And her little tiger stinger just like that a fraction draw it but it will work that's how you hit a stinger okay next.

Question coming in which golf brand do you think has had the best year in 2019 it's a good one because it could be interpreted in many different ways uh i'll tell you who's had a good year cobra's had a decent year this drive is really good it's got a lot of hype. And the price did well with lots of really good features i feel like out on tour i know tirelessly been killing it certainly the ts2 ts3 drivers. And they seem to have a lot of weeks where almost majority of the clubs are like number one played. And certainly obviously they normally have golf ball um callaway's been strong brought some solid product out epic flash has done well again i'm kind of using that from a tour validation standpoint i had some good victories uh taylormade you know because they've got so many players signed up every week they seem to have a player contending all the time i think the product's been very strong this year um be interesting to see where taylormade. And callaway go potentially next.

But i'd probably say as an underdog cobra probably had the best year they've got some great players with bryson and ricky really good solid products and seems to be kind of getting back to the big top 10 kind of two or three brands really um so i'm going to say cobra with that. So homie van home great name has asked on instagram are we now seeing the peak in drive driver performance. And what's next.

What's next.

That's a good one answer in a second are we reaching peak we've managed yeah we're getting pretty close there's only a certain amount that the ball speed can come off from the driver face it's just there are legal limits set by the governing bodies that will stop that from from going too far that's just what it is brands are getting ridiculously closer. And we've seen it over the last few years they've optimized it as much as they can. But we're getting close so answer next.

What's next.

I don't i don't always know what's next.

From brands they obviously have a huge team working on things but for me what i would like to see is maybe more technology used you know as technology starts to get better. And you know if you're a runner you go out for a run you're wearing technology enhances your performance enhances what you learn we're getting a little bit of that with golf but none of it is really going in the product possibly that's the closest. So far our costs are here in the uh cobra. But i'd like to see technology introduced into golf clubs that we can learn from. And improve and get better and also become a little bit addicted to everyone likes technology it almost becomes a bit obsessive i still think brands aren't quite utilizing this idea that you know people just want other options as well you know i might not want this driver in this color this setting you know maybe explore that option a little bit more give the consumer a bit more of what they want if you want to buy a car you can bespoke it in. So many different details now not only the the color the shape you know the the finishes the stylings i think we can get to that a bit more with golf. And that's the fun element of clubs as well you want them to be different you want to be unique and you want to be personalized for you and ideally you want to go straight which that one didn't do. For me i don't know what's coming next.

But what i would like to see in 2020 is clubs that are bringing out more technology to help us learn. And get better at golf and also just enjoy it more it doesn't always have to be the fact it's going to go the furthest it's the one you want to be proud of a golf club. And you want to buy a golf club and it be you know you become obsessed with it you fall in love with it and you want to go out and play more golf because of that and that's never a bad thing last point on that topic as well i want to see prices come down a little bit i feel like the brands now are charging. So much more we're getting to 500 pound plus for drivers almost every single time um and even when a cobra comes out at 350 pounds it seems cheap i don't think it's quite cheap enough if i'm honest i feel like you know with if brands gave more options. And possibly didn't bring out as many golf clubs let the club circulate a little bit longer you could charge a little bit less you people getting bit more invested in the products because they've personalized it wouldn't need to maybe swap as much i'd like to see prices drop a little bit but i understand they've got to make money that's the hard balance so k whitby knight wants to ask have you and mr finch fallen out as there hasn't been a video from you two for a while no absolutely we've not fallen out we're still great mates with what's up all the time he's doing great. For himself he's got open qualifying coming up soon he's turned into a hell of a player i've actually got a really exciting project coming up in las vegas in august which i'm excited about it'd be good to go away with pete again. But no we're not falling out i think the last video we did was golfbidder challenge uh course vlog if you've not seen it you've got to watch it cause i think it's probably our best match. And there will be some more matches again coming out this year. But me and pete are still good mates oh pathetic no speed at all okay finished the round um i drove it awful. But i scored pretty well got loads more questions once i'm gonna do a quick fire most consistent brand of clubs over the years. For me it's gotta be ping ping has been so um consistent for forever and they continue to still make great products um tip for junior golfers you know what tip would be just go out and enjoy it like play and enjoy it don't get too bogged down in the technicalities of it all um get into a good group of friends and play competitive golf that's the one thing i'd say and play competitive golf that's not at your home course get loads of experience playing at loads of different places um how do i keep my head looking down in my swing well first off ethan. And anybody asking about keeping the head down you do not have to keep your head down when hitting golf shots look at someone like henrik stenson he's almost looking away. And dustin johnson looking away from the golf balls to make contact it's one of the biggest myths and do not follow it um any chance of popping over to australia. For a visit well it's not particularly a pop over to australia i went to australia in 2014 and absolutely loved it i thought it was one of my favorite places i'll try. And get back there again soon but nothing nothing in the la pipeline um comparison between garmin g80 and gc quad um well i have tested g80 versus gc quad it's unbelievable on ball speed club head speed it's very good on distances to about 200 yards over 200 yards it's not as good as gc quad how do you get over the mental part of golf all the stress. And scary stuff that you were you're worried about it's a great question you know even someone who's been playing golf as long as me i get nervous i get nervous because it's it's almost excitement i'm i i want to go out. And play well i want to go and perform and that comes with added nerves and stress i think the big thing is practice it as tiger said recently he said unless you've practiced it don't expect to see it out on the golf course unless you've grinded. And hit lots of golf shots don't just go to a tournament and expect to play well if you've not put the hard work in so i think hard work. And practice gets rid of those nerves who do you watch any non-golf youtubers here if. So why uh yeah i do actually i watch um i love casey he's a great creator m k b hd is a great markers brownlee i love what he does the guys from what's inside who actually played in the golf they recently love those guys um other let me see what they're actually subscribed to uh one second i really like philip defranco i think he makes some great stuff eric is lying. But he is actually quite golf heavy uh david dobrik how are forgetting david dobrik actually forget what i've just said david dobrik. For me goes to the top of the chain closely followed by mr beast mr beaston does some great stuff. And how ridiculous it's quite a lot there weren't they yeah they're my favorite non-golf youtubers what's the pencil bag you use in most videos well i actually use this the ping moonlight i love it. For the fact that it's not heavy i just stick i actually put all my golf clubs in it a few golf balls a few tees it doesn't really fit waterproof so if you played in bad weather don't play with a pencil bag because you'll get caught out um i just like the fact i can sling it on my shoulder it fits in the car nice. And easy yeah it's not i like them a lot okay. So that is it. For the q a thanks so much for watching if you enjoyed the video make sure you smash that like and subscribe to the channel stay tuned lots more to come we'll see you next.

Time.
