Hi my name is rick shields down here at traffic gold center in manchester. And today.
We're going to be testing the new titleist irons i've already done the ap1. And the ap2 and this time it's the cb forged line that i'm going to be testing the titles have brought four new irons out um all kind of catering. For different parts of the market really from higher handicappers to lower handicappers and also given the kind of combinations between if you do want more forged. Or less forgiving or more forgiving iron you've got those options too so you can check the other videos out on my channel uh you can see that in the description below. And do subscribe to the channel the more subscribers i get the more videos i'll do. So today.
We're gonna be testing the titleist cb. So with the reason why i've only got the heads in the others because i've been using the same shaft for every single club test to give it the fairest comparison this is the cbs stiff steel shaft in tour um i've got them all in six irons. So now the the cb one is designed. For that kind of lower maybe even teen to as low as handicap as you can get really. And it's not got a great deal of forgiveness it slightly goes smaller in head as you go down the set into the into the shorter irons um it's not a progressive cavity but the heads do get slightly shorter uh smaller. And also the offsets like get slightly less as well i mean it's not got a great deal of offset on it anyway um it's a beautiful looking club head behind the ball it's got a very thin top line it's got quite a chrome finish at the top. But then.
Quite a brushed face and a brush to back as well so it's a beautiful looking club it's enforced as well so it should give that nice soft feel to it now this shouldn't be a club that gives ultimate forgiveness it should be a club that gives a little bit of forgiveness because it's got the perimeter waiting around the side of it around the uh the cavity here but generally this should be a club that that gives nice feel decent distance but also shot shaping ability as well so we've got flight scopes set up in the background so i'll give you live figures i mean hitting real golf balls down here at trafford. And let's give this a go oh that felt really good i felt more bladed and then.
You i've only tried the ap probably the nearest competitor apart from the mb is probably the ap 2 you'd you'd be you've got these two that are kind of very similar apart from the this one's got a bit more of a cavity to it this is the ap2. So these two are almost targeting this very very similar market it's got nice launch on it quite a high ball flight feels good off the face like i said with it being forged it's got that nice soft feel at contact oh a little bit bottom that time. So that'll be interesting to see what the distance on that was that wasn't as good as golf shots to fit the others which seems to have still gone very similar distance like i said i'll get flights got figures up on there as well with that now if i do try. And catch this one a little bit out the toe let's see what happens i was right in the middle that was really good shot let's try to get out the toe that was more towie that'd be interesting to see what the distance on that one is seems to look like it's going a very similar distance it didn't feel anywhere near as as forgiving as the ap one that i tried earlier. Or even possibly the ap2 i could feel the club head twist as soon as i hit the toe on that one then.
So the waiting isn't quite as good as the other ones let's give it a go off the heel felt good but i've just pulled it a touch felt very solid because it was a bit closer to the actual neck it didn't twist quite as much now let's see if i can just shape one as well let's see if i can move one from right to left now this is where it should come into its own a little bit more over the uh the ap2 i tried earlier yeah nice draw that was very easy to do i feel like with that forced head it gives give me that feel to be able to achieve that. And let's give it a little go with the fade just left the target it's gonna be one more go at that should be achievable it felt like i didn't quite get the path going left enough that time oh there we go that's faded really nice the very kind of easy. And comfortable to do it's got a great feel to the head now like i said that's a very close competitor to the ap ii. So do try them both because the target is a very similar market. So that was my review of the titleist cb forged great feel off the head very very soft um designed. For that kind of mid to lower handicap as you can get i can almost imagine golf pros using this as well um beautiful looking club next.
